Is there merit in chanting Buddha?

To recite Buddha is to cultivate "good roots and good karma", and the merits are incredible. Being able to recite Buddha today shows that all of you here have good karma.

Why do you want to read Amitabha Namo? What are the benefits of reading Amitabha Namo? It is necessary to understand that the six-character fame of "there is no Amitabha in the south" is the result of Amitabha's practice as a Buddha because of the land when he became a monk. This Buddha's name embodies infinite blessings, and all living beings say that they can gain infinite merits and eliminate infinite crimes. The Amitabha Sutra says: "If a good man and a good woman smell Amitabha and hold the title, if one day, two days, three days ... if they are not distracted for seven days, their lives are dying, and Amitabha and other saints are in front of them now. When people die, their hearts will not turn back, that is, they will achieve Amitabha's bliss. " This is the origin of chanting Buddha. To put it simply, the advantages of chanting "Amitabha in the South" are:

First, we can get rid of the hubbub, eliminate troubles and increase our wisdom.

Life is alive, things overlap, but one after another, the noise is rolling, making people restless. Chanting Buddha can calm your restless heart, and your troubles will disappear. Over time, your troubles will turn into bodhi. Things can't be opened at ordinary times. Read the Buddha's name and let nature take its course. Trouble comes, chanting Buddha's number, and trouble dies. If your husband is angry with you and scolds you, you can call him "Amitabha", which will extinguish your anger, and a Amitabha will make you feel good.

Cool-headed, clear-headed, active cells, quick thinking, enhanced memory and intellectual growth. My master told such a story. He said that he had a friend who often came to the temple to play. One day, he came to the temple to play again, and it happened that the Buddha was playing in the temple. The master said to him, "Now the Buddha is playing in the temple, and I'm going to read the Buddha. The benefits of chanting Buddha are enormous. I'll take you to read a fragrance. " After reading a fragrance, this friend quickly said to Master, "It's really good to recite Buddha." My host thought he was in full bloom and was about to ask questions. The friend said, "When I was studying Buddhism just now, I suddenly remembered that I lent you 10 yuan six years ago and forgot to return it to you. So you asked me to recite Buddha and pay back the money. " This is a joke, but chanting Buddha can really help people develop their intelligence and restore their memories.

Life lies in exercise, and proper physical exercise is good for health. In the same way, the brain should also exercise so as not to "age". How does the brain move? It is of course scientifically proved that chanting Buddha is the best mental exercise.

Second, chanting Buddha can cure the loneliness and talkativeness of the elderly.

When people are old, they are old, so it is hard to be bitter. Everyone will die, but not everyone will be old. When you are old, you really have to be blessed. You are always blessed, but after all, being old is bitter, and loneliness and silence are great pains when you are old. My daughter grew up and found a son-in-law to marry. My son grew up, married a daughter-in-law and moved out. My wife died, too. I am left alone, lonely, playing mahjong, staying up late, easy to get emotional and harmful to my health; Watching TV, poor eyesight, long and tired; Chatting at home, if you talk too much, you will lose; Stay at home, lonely and bored, what should I do? Find a drugstore, there is no medicine for this loneliness. What can we do? There's a way! When you come to the temple, the mage teaches you that there is no Amitabha in the south. As long as you follow the teachings and concentrate on it, loneliness will be cured naturally.

A believer said to me, "Master! My mother is full of old sayings, often saying the wrong thing and causing trouble. What shall we do, master! " I said to him, "There is no cure for this old problem, but I will teach you, and you will teach your mother to read Amitabha Nanwu." Read 20 thousand sentences every day, but finish reading this number every day. Just try it. And tell your mother the benefits of chanting Buddha. Ten days later, the believers happily said to me, "Now my mother has stopped nagging and gossiping, and her spirit is cheerful. "This is the merit of chanting Buddha. The old people in my small temple are asked to recite 70,000 or 80,000 sentences every day. After finishing this homework, they can go to bed. It's too late to recite Buddha, and there's still time to gossip. If your old mother or grandmother, or your father-in-law, is talkative and likes to nag, you might as well teach him to recite Amitabha Nanwu and try this "panacea".

Our old ladies and grandmothers live a full and happy life with this saying "There is no Amitabha in the south", instead of being lonely, lonely and nagging.

Third, chanting Buddha is the foundation of all good, which can eliminate karma and sin and increase infinite blessings.

Buddhist scriptures say that chanting Buddha kills river sand, and chanting Buddha increases infinite happiness. When chanting Buddha's name, you are chanting Buddha without evil deeds, chanting Buddha without evil words, chanting Buddha without evil thoughts in your heart, keeping your body, mouth and heart clean, turning evil into good, eliminating evil deeds, and naturally increasing blessings.

According to the records of Tibetan scriptures, if men and women hear the name of Buddha, they will be respectful and have boundless blessings. They will surpass the felony of forty robberies of life and death (one robbery, about 16 million years), never fall into evil ways, live with heaven forever, and win wonderful joy. Hearing the name of Buddha, there are so many merits, what's more, we sincerely call this name "Amitabha" now? Inevitably, there will be infinite blessings, and infinite sins will be destroyed.

Hokkekyo said: "If there is no Buddha in the south, all will become Buddhas." When the Buddha was alive, an old man read a sentence "There is no Buddha in the south" before the 500 robbery. After more than 500 robberies, this "good root" matured and finally became a monk. This good root of "there is no Buddha in the south", the root of all good, has not withered after more than 500 years of robbery, but can take root, sprout, blossom and bear the fruit of bodhi.

Fourth, chanting Buddha is simple, convenient, slow and steady, easy to use and quick to get results.

The practice of chanting Buddha is the simplest, most convenient and most stable. The so-called simplicity means that the traveler only needs to recite amitabha in the south. As long as anyone can speak, this Buddhist name can be pronounced, as can three-year-old children and parrots and livestock. It can be seen that there is no easier way.

Convenience means that you can practice Buddhism anywhere, even if you go to the toilet. Go to the toilet and recite the Buddha's name. Buddhism can be recited at any time. Living, sitting and lying are all feasible, but lying down means meditation. It doesn't matter whether you want to see it or stop. When chanting, the phone rings. You can temporarily stop chanting and answer the phone. When someone knocks at the door while chanting, you can stop chanting and open the door for a while to receive guests ... everything is clear and convenient. Of course, it is the most ideal way to set a time, put aside all the miscellaneous reasons, calm down and concentrate on Buddhism.

The so-called stability means that practitioners can practice Buddhism safely and never go wrong, without worrying about being possessed by others. It really means that "Amitabha is the most convenient in one sentence, without much effort and money, simple, steady and safest, and will cross the three realms to the front of the Buddha."

Five, chanting, you can go to the pure land of Amitabha.

There is no limit to the merits of chanting Buddha, but in the past, living in the pure land of Amitabha Buddha was the greatest merit, which was also the purpose of chanting Buddha. Everyone should be clear about this. The oath we read is clear: "Do your best to repay yourself and live together in the land of bliss." If you use the merits of chanting Buddha to seek wealth and fame, it is beyond reproach. What a pity! Like a priceless mani pearl, it was bought with a few oranges. What a pity! You should know that prosperity is a dream in the middle of the night, such as dew like flowers and magic like electricity. You know, enjoying the blessings of the world will lead to depravity, and that is why the west will not be reincarnated when it is born. After becoming a Buddha, visiting your six relatives and even all sentient beings is the ultimate happiness. It does not violate the painstaking efforts of Sakyamuni Buddha to teach people to recite Buddha, nor does it violate Amitabha's great wish of compassion.

The Infinite Life Sutra says: "There are more than ten buddhas and bodhisattvas in the world, and those who remember their names are endless. Those who were born in the West are unable to return to poverty. " Let's take China as an example. It is also incalculable that celebrities with recorded surnames died in the West.

Everyone has seen the Record of Pure Land Sages, which contains more than 1230 people. Even chickens, geese and other livestock died one after another. In the Republic of China, Master Xian Di was the abbot of Toutuo Temple in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, and a rooster died in the temple. All of us here must live up to expectations, not inferior to roosters!

When Buddhists recite the Buddha, they are often invisibly guarded by the gods, and often guarded by the bodhisattvas, and so on. Master Yin Guang said, "In a word, the three omnipotent quilts are the kings of the Three Monks and the Twelve Classics." There is no limit to the merits of chanting Buddha, and living in the West is the ultimate merit of chanting Buddha.

We read Amitabha Namo together. When we read, we must be in tune and have a soft voice. There are four beats in the word Amitabha in South China, namely, one beat in South China, one beat in Amitabha, one beat in Tuo, one beat in Buddha and four beats in * *. When chanting Buddha, the sound of wooden fish is neat, the mouth is clear, the ears are clear, and the mind is clear. Eyes, ears, nose, tongue and body all live in the name of "Amitabha Buddha in the south", then all six are photographed, and the net thoughts are one after another.

When walking around the Buddha, walk slowly according to the rhythm of chanting. When chanting "Nanwu", lift your left foot and step forward; When chanting "Ami", lift your right foot and take a step forward; When chanting "Tuo", lift your left foot and step forward; When chanting "Buddha", lift your right foot and take a step forward. It takes a little effort to take a step forward, lift your feet and watch the lotus on the ground. My foot just stepped on the lotus, one step at a time, and the pure land of Amitabha in the west is here. You got it? Everyone was silent. I think everyone understood.

Tommy kept talking. Bai Bo thought about it, persisted and decided to support him. -Poems by Zen Master Yanshou
