Korean movies really surprise people from time to time! Today I dug out "Old Boy", also called "The Original Sinner". At first glance, I thought it was "Oldboy's Dragon Crossing the River" produced by the Chinese Chopstick Brothers! But when you look at the name "Original Sinner", it looks like the kind of movie that deeply understands the ugliness and origin of human nature, and it is much deeper.

◎Introduction

The film tells a story of revenge. The protagonist Wu Daxiu (played by Cui Minzhi) was suddenly kidnapped on his way home drunk and imprisoned in a private prison for 15 years. After he was finally able to see the light of day, he Desperate to find out the reason why he was kidnapped, he launched a crazy revenge plan. As a result, cruel scenes such as tooth extraction with a hammer, tongue cutting with scissors, eardrum piercing, and even eating octopus alive come one after another, impacting your numb nerves again and again; then, the hypnotist, the sushi clerk, the prison guard, the classmate, the close friend, and even the pedestrian Irrelevant characters appear one after another, making the plot more compact and the atmosphere even weirder. A simple revenge film has a relationship with life, ethics, love and psychology, and the thoughts it brings to everyone have become deeper and heavier. However, unexpectedly, the end of the film reveals to everyone a trap set up out of anger and hatred, finally allowing the incest between sister and brother, father and daughter to be released in the true nature of human beings...

My feelings after reading the movie are as follows:

1. Curiosity kills the cat.

It's all incest, the siblings are active and the father and daughter are passive, but there is no doubt that it's all because of love, true love.

So, I am thinking: Since incest is a real order constructed by the world, then if we truly love each other, do we really have to compromise with this virtual order? Whether it is between a student brother and a brother or a father and daughter who have forgotten their years, no matter how special the love is, they will eventually surrender to the world. When his father Wu Daxiu learned the truth first, he desperately protected his lover's daughter who still didn't know the truth. This has become an instinctive reaction. Just imagine, as a middle-aged person, I can accept it with peace of mind if I fall in love with someone else’s young daughter, but I can’t accept it if it’s my own daughter! People are still selfish, loving themselves and their reputation more than anything else, even themselves. The final solution is to find someone to hypnotize you so that you don’t forget the truth you know and live together happily? ! How ironic! Is it really possible to continue living together without knowing the truth? In the eyes of insiders, it is undoubtedly a joke!

3. In the confrontation between love and hate, love will win. This is the main theme of human evolution, and of course you are also the main theme of the movie plot. Even though we know that most of the endings are like this, we still go back to watch the movie. Why? Because the joyful satisfaction and story-like sense of unknown that the love process brings us are what we pursue infinitely in our limited lives. So, why does love win? Why is love more powerful? I'm also thinking about it, I think it might be easier! Compared with love and hate, you can do everything with a smile, and you are more likely to be inspired with long-lasting strength, both in your heart and in your body. Hate, on the other hand, is much boring. For one obsession, one gives up a lot, but ignores the entire forest. Avengers, once the great revenge is avenged, there is no need to live anymore! But love is different, it lasts longer. Even if she/he dies or leaves, they can still live a beautiful life and pass it on. This process is always relatively easy. Take a look at The Revenge of the Count of Monte Cristo. He almost reinvents himself and lives a joyless life for revenge. And meeting that girl, meeting love, can even change his thoughts of revenge in the end. Because you have gained more, and because of the previous misfortunes, you really can’t bear the pain of losing again. Therefore, love can also be embodied as a kind of giving up, giving up all obstacles to love. And giving up is much easier and easier than persisting!

However, we have to admit that the power of hatred cannot be underestimated, and behind it is the support of will. Never heard of a famous saying: "Only with a passion like first love and a will like religion can a person achieve something." Yes, will and love are equally matched! But from the perspective of vitality, hatred leads to destruction. When revenge is achieved, the mission is completed and life ends; while love, on the other hand, leads to new life and hope, and is more unpredictable. It is true that love and hate are usually the main theme. People who have harbored hatred for many years and seek revenge will always encounter the inspiration of kind and warm love and achieve change. On the contrary, the cradle of love that has been immersed for many years is often easily destroyed by evil, selfishness, greed, etc., and then falls into a game of reversal and change of love and hate, which can even be passed on and infected between generations. But we believe that for individuals, there will always be that savior, that little angel, who appears and fulfills the calling. No need to ask anything, because the main theme is like this, most of them are like this, and this is the order of the world.

4. Revenge/inspiration, because of hate/love. Regardless of right or wrong, who is not born out of love? Isn’t everything just human nature? The younger brother and the younger brother strayed into the restricted area when they were young and ignorant, which was not tolerated by reality, so the younger brother worked hard to run his business, and finally had enough strength to support him in revenge. Isn't this just because love for someone creates hatred for others? We are all poor people, living tenaciously for some beliefs. From a young man's perspective, he is also inspirational.

When he was young, he was unable to fight against the society. From then on, he secretly worked hard and was finally able to bribe the gangs and find people to make trouble. At the same time, his mental strategies also improved step by step. Isn't this all inspirational and uplifting?

To put it another way, the male protagonist was imprisoned for 15 years for unknown reasons. It was not even a real government prison. Why didn’t he just die? Isn’t it because of stubborn hatred? So he trained hard and actively watched TV to learn skills, so that even after he was released, he still didn't feel out. Isn't all this driven by hatred?

But in essence, they (the parties/informants) do not deserve sympathy, but the innocent people (young Meidu, who else? Can’t think of anyone else! Including That hypnotist is also guilty). Because innocent people have no choice, they usually suffer misfortune; but the person involved can choose, and having a choice will make a difference. You can change your own or other people's fate. Even if you can't change it, you have asked for it and are responsible for it. That’s it!

Therefore, apart from the evaluation factor of the impact on innocent people, it is meaningless to talk about inspiration or revenge. We can often see plots such as "Manslaughter": the normal way of resorting to law cannot achieve fairness and justice, so we have to resort to personal power to seek revenge. So whether the innocent is hurt often makes us think about revenge. Behaviors have different qualities. Some of us hope that he will win, and some of us hope that he will go to his grave early. This is the reason. Because no one has the right to control the life or death of others, let alone the behavior of trampling on life. This is my take on inspirational revenge.

In short, this movie is enough to attract attention with its bloody action scenes and large-scale sex scenes. The revelation of human nature is also enough to reach sufficient depth. The suspenseful design also goes beyond everyone’s imagination. Especially in the end, after sacrificing for love and then being hypnotized to erase the memory, this is undoubtedly the director's view on the attitude of incest due to love that is not tolerated by the world - support! I think it's more thought-provoking. Yes, does love really have to be divided by blood? Does true love have to stop within the established order of the world?

My opinion is that when it comes to order, the union of people who are not in the same age group is an extraordinary act that transcends generations. Is it recommended that old cows eat young grass or calves eat dry grass? Of course not, it’s just that with the development of social civilization, tolerance for this has become greater and greater. Since the order itself is not objective and is only recognized by the general public, then is it enough to just live your own loving life subjectively? I'm afraid it's hard not to live under the judgment of others. People and the environment go hand in hand all the time.

Another situation is the love between relatives. If it is not considered from a physiological point of view, isn't the essence the same? People are independent individuals and have their own rights to pursue things. Not to mention that in primitive and feudal societies, seemingly incest happened from time to time, and was even normal. The essence of the matter has not changed, but civilization, standards, and evaluations are changing.

Therefore, the director and I agree. No matter what others think, people only live once and it doesn’t affect innocent people. Of course, in this case, the innocent next generation will inevitably be implicated. Therefore, I agree with (them) not to have children.
