What is Meng Lanjie?

The Yulan Festival on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month is also called Yulan Basin Festival and Zhongyuan Festival. It should be noted that, in a sense, Zhongyuan Festival belongs to Taoism, Bonihara Festival belongs to Buddhism, and July and a half ancestor worship festival belongs to folk customs. Festival ceremony:

First of all, clean the altar around the scriptures, that is, recite the "Yulan Bijing". First, the abbot presided over the ceremony of circling the altar, chanting and sprinkling, and the public followed him and recited the "Magnolia Pen Classic" three times; Then, the public knelt down according to their positions in the morning and evening classes, and read a congratulatory message with the abbot, wishing all unjust relatives to cross over together; After the toast, the public stood up, listened to Na Wei recite the Buddha's name, and bowed down to the sound. Bow down and dismiss.

The second content is offering sacrifices to orchid flowerpots. The monks went to the altar again, and after worshiping the Buddha for three times, the abbot lit incense, and Na Wei held "A Tribute" and the people sang together. Then, chanting over and over again, explaining the purpose of basin offering, expressing one's mind, and sometimes bowing down with the Buddha. Finally, read a reply, and the sacrificial ceremony of Lanpen was over.

The last ceremony is for monks to eat. After the offering, Yue Zhong collected what Tan Yue (a believer) gave, and all the tourists and monks in the temple were equally distributed.
