Master Toy Pentax K-01 (02): Magic City, Night, Shanghai Chapter

During the two weeks that I took Pentax K-01 with me, my first stop was to attend HP’s 2012 Global Impact Forum in Shanghai. Due to the flow of the event, most of the photo time was spent in In the evening, there was light rain and thick fog in the sky on the first day in Shanghai. On the second day, it was extremely emotional. However, I would like to apologize to Fu Kun for lending me my DA40mm XS for night scenes. The author is more accustomed to using DA15mm Limited. The reasons will be discussed separately.

The night in Shanghai is very special. With the combination of positive and negative processing and reverse film, it has a unique flavor.

This is the entrance to the Apple store in Pudong, Shanghai. The store is located in the basement of this glowing transparent Apple building. On a foggy night, due to severe light pollution in Pudong, the shutter speed is slower than the next day. It can be higher, and even if you hold the night shot with one hand, it will not shake easily.

This is the famous landmark "Oriental Pearl" in Shanghai. Due to the heavy fog, the upper half of the Oriental Pearl is buried in the clouds and mist.

Due to time constraints, the author was very sad not to go to the Bund. I could only look at it from the opposite side of the Bund. The colorful ferries on the Bund at night were constantly shuttling. You can also see on these ferries When I see the logos of many manufacturers, they look like signs on the water.

This is the street outside the hotel where the author is staying. Because the lens is stained by some rain, some interesting lines appear on the tail of the starburst.

Due to the positive and negative contrast, the colors sometimes match the style, which makes me rarely shoot with the K-01 standard tone.

The K-01 style file does not have a stronger hardcore monochrome like Q, but only a more ordinary monochrome black and white style.

This picture is probably one of the few that the author took with bright tones. Because under indoor light conditions, forward and reverse processing and reverse film will not perform white balance correction, the food in the photo does not look very good. .

The next day, the sky cleared up, and we were finally able to see the full view of the Oriental Pearl Tower. However, without the thick clouds and fog, the light became darker, the shutter time became relatively slower, and the handshake photography failed. The chances are much higher.

To be honest, the author really likes Shanghai under the specific colors of positive and negative, which is like an illusory portrait.

After looking at the Oriental Pearl Tower for a long time, it really looks like a rocket. In comparison, the author personally prefers the shape of the Sky Tree.

The author used the time-lapse photography function of K-01 to take a picture of the overpass outside the hotel.

This is a very lively Xintiandi in Shanghai, and it is also a gathering place for many foreign tourists. You can see quite a few blond and blue-eyed tourists passing through.

Slow down the shutter without a tripod to create the feeling of people moving.

Xintiandi is also a place where many famous cars appear. The author was lucky enough to take a photo of this valuable Ferrari 599 GTO. Under the rendering of light, shadow, architecture, and positive and negative colors, I took this photo Photos that I personally like very much. This is one of the few photos taken by the author using DA40mm XS in Shanghai, using ISO 3200.

This photo is also the last photo of the author’s Shanghai chapter. The author also provides the original image file of this photo. If you are interested, you can click here
