Why is it so difficult to learn Changzhou dialect?

Changzhou dialect is a dialect of Wu dialect, which belongs to Taihu Lake in Wu dialect.

Wu dialect area includes Shanghai, most of southern Jiangsu and northern Zhejiang. Pronunciation is very different from northern Mandarin, even from Jianghuai Mandarin in this province (not a language family at all).
