Is Tianmen a prefecture-level city or a county-level city?

Tianmen City is a county-level city.

Tianmen City, formerly known as Jingling, Jingling and Fuzhou, is a county-level city and municipality directly under the Central Government of Hubei Province. It is a member of Wuhan metropolitan area and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and a regional central city in Hubei Province. It is located in the south-central part of Hubei Province, in the north of Jianghan Plain, near Dahongshan in the north, Hanjiang in the south, Jingzhou in the west and 90 kilometers from Wuhan in the east.

Tianmen is an important birthplace of human civilization and Chu culture in the Yangtze River valley, the hometown of Lu Yu, the hometown of steamed vegetables in China, the largest hometown of overseas Chinese in the inland, and the birthplace of the idiom "Chu is the only way to raise". The Shijiahe site in Tianmen is the center of civilization in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River in the late Neolithic period.

Tianmen basement structure is a part of inland basin formed since Yanshan movement. The city spans eight tectonic units in the basin, namely Qianjiang Depression, Longsai Lake Uplift, Xiaoban Depression, Shenhu Low Uplift, Tianmen Uplift Zone, Hanshui Graben, Yongqianghe Uplift and Lexiangguan horst.

Climate and hydrology

Tianmen city belongs to subtropical monsoon climate. It is characterized by abundant sunshine, humid climate, changeable temperature in spring, waterlogging in early summer, drought in summer and autumn, long growth period and short cold period.

Although the terrain is relatively simple, due to the blocking effect of Dahongshan in the north, the southwest area along the Yangtze River is affected by the cold air from the edge of Jianghan Valley and the northeast area of Zaoshi Valley, forming the regional distribution characteristics of Tianmen climate: the heat status is slightly lower in the northeast and southwest areas along the Yangtze River, slightly higher in other places, with more water resources in the southeast, less water resources in the west and north, and higher in the east and lower in the west.

There are 43 rivers with a basin area of 50 square kilometers in Tianmen City, with a total length of 1 13 1.9 kilometers, which gradually form several major rivers today, namely Hanjiang River, Shangtianmen River, Xiatianmen River and hanbei river.
