How to make students pay attention to lectures?

How to Adjust Students' Classroom Attention

The key to the success of curriculum reform and the improvement of teaching quality lies in whether the methods are correct. No matter what method is adopted, we must try our best to adjust students' classroom attention, because classroom is the main position of teaching. Teachers are intentional, scholars are unintentional, and any good wishes are difficult to achieve. It can be said that whether students' classroom attention can be well regulated is the key to the success of teachers' teaching. To this end, talk about my own experience:

Reflection 1: How to concentrate students' attention at the beginning of each class?

Because one or two minutes before class, students often don't pay enough attention because of factors such as just entering the classroom, turning over books with pens, and having fun during recess. If we announce what class we are going to take as soon as we step onto the podium at this time and ask students to open a page of textbooks, the result is often that the lecture has been going on for a long time, some students have not opened their textbooks, some have not even taken out their textbooks, or the textbooks used in the last class are on the table. After noticing this phenomenon, teachers should first try to attract students' attention.

At this point, I still scan the classroom with my eyes; Or go down and have a look; Or ask questions to review a question from last class; Or give some exercises that can be answered in just three or five minutes; Or tell a short story, allusion, joke and other opening remarks related to the lecture; Or let the class representative read what he usually asks to recite; Or let the class representatives read "a book a day" (arranged by the class teacher and assisted by the classroom teacher), which will receive better teaching results. Some schools regard "paying close attention to the first three minutes of class" as an important work of teaching routine. They demand: when the bell rings, students must return to their seats quickly, and teachers must wait for class at the classroom door. In this way, using the three minutes before class, students unconsciously accumulated and mastered a lot of recitation content, strengthened exercises (correcting on the blackboard in class) without increasing the burden on teachers and students, and adjusted students' mood before class.

Reflection 2: How to learn to observe words and observe colors and pay attention to information feedback.

In the process of teaching, if students show doubts, hesitation and ambiguity, it means that they may have noticed, but they didn't understand. At this time, if the teacher does not take remedial measures, but just lectures to catch up with the progress, the students' attention will be distracted. If students are absent-minded, even sleepy, slow to answer questions, or answer irrelevant questions, this shows that their attention has been distracted. At this time, teachers should appropriately change the topic or stop teaching, and strive to adjust their attention, so as to "revive" the classroom and achieve the expected teaching effect.

In a word, teaching is regular, but there is no fixed law in teaching. As long as it is effective, it should be used.

Improve students' attention

Diaoting Middle School; Feng

As an educator, I think everyone knows that the traditional classroom teaching mode is: teachers teach and students learn. In other words: if the teacher wants to teach 100% today, the students have learned most of what you want to teach, which means that today's classroom is efficient, and vice versa. Although this traditional indoctrination teaching mode is being replaced by more advanced modern teaching mode, this "cramming" still exists in some teachers' teaching. This can only lead to one result: teachers are tired of teaching and students are tired of learning. After a long time, many students' energy can't keep up, and their attention naturally loses focus. Because according to the growth law of teenagers, students are more likely to be interested in attractive things at this time. Once they feel tired, they are even less likely to be interested in this boring "cramming", and their attention will naturally be distracted. After a long time, their grades will definitely decline, and the knowledge they should master cannot be mastered in time, which directly affects the classroom efficiency. From this point, it can also explain whether students are attentive in class, which is also an important guarantee for classroom efficiency.

Because of short working hours and lack of rich teaching experience, my views are not particularly incisive, but I have some experiences in this respect. I think students' attention in class is an important guarantee of classroom efficiency, which directly affects the teaching quality of a class, because students are the main body of learning. No matter how good the teacher is, it won't help if they don't even put themselves into the classroom. Then how can we make students pay high attention in class? I think we should do the following:

First of all, teachers should improve teaching methods and learn to use advanced teaching theories to guide classroom teaching;

Second, teachers should constantly broaden their knowledge and enrich their extracurricular knowledge;

Third, teachers should constantly improve their professional knowledge;

Fourth, teachers should pay attention to the volume in class;

Fifth, strengthen the emotional communication between teachers and students;

Of course, there may be other aspects, and I want to talk about my experience in these aspects. Some people will say that some of these points are secondary, so why should we emphasize them? But I think each of the above aspects will have an impact on classroom teaching. Without any point, the efficiency of this class will be reduced, even if it is lower than 0. 1%, it is a failure of this class and will affect students' understanding and mastery of knowledge. Therefore, I think these points are very important and there is no need to prioritize.

First of all, teachers should improve teaching methods and learn to use advanced teaching theories to guide classroom teaching;

The society is progressing, and so are the students. If we blindly follow the old teaching model, then as teachers, we will be unable to keep up with the form and teaching will inevitably fall behind. When I first started working, I liked to use this sentence: "What about when we are studying?" Although there were good learning methods in the past, but blindly emphasizing the past will fall behind. As a result, I sometimes have some contradictions when dealing with problems in this way. And this method is what I listened to the teacher teach us. Therefore, the result of traditional teaching mode can only be "haste makes waste", because students only passively accept knowledge, just like completing a task, instead of understanding and accepting it with their heart. So that students can concentrate? So how to improve classroom efficiency? Therefore, as a teacher, only by clearly understanding the situation and constantly improving teaching methods can we be in an invincible position in the future teaching process and embody the position of "students are the main body and teachers are the dominant" in the classroom. Only in this way can quality education be truly implemented. Only in this way can you make your class more attractive to students and make them more attentive. Of course, the improvement of teaching methods needs the guidance of advanced and correct teaching theories, which requires us to constantly learn and supplement this knowledge in peacetime. I have studied a series of teaching theories and experiences, such as Foreign Thinking Experience, Selected Teaching Theories and Teaching Experiences, and Wuxi Academic Leaders' Experience Collection, from which I also feel my own shortcomings in this respect. In this regard, Yang Si's experience is worth mentioning. Yang Si's classroom teaching mode of "learning before teaching and training in class" has found a new way for classroom teaching. Under the guidance of this model, students can really participate in classroom teaching as the main body of learning, which fully improves students' subjective initiative and makes them fully active. Students' interest will naturally increase and their attention will be more focused. Therefore, advanced and correct classroom teaching methods will also directly affect students' attention in class. As a teacher, we must pay attention to this aspect at ordinary times.

Second, teachers should constantly broaden their knowledge and enrich their extracurricular knowledge.

Modern society is a rapidly developing society. With the continuous progress and development of science and technology, modern students are exposed to more and more things, and book knowledge alone can no longer meet the needs of some students. They want to know more knowledge, because of the limitation of conditions, which largely comes from teachers. Take English for example, because it involves foreign countries, English teachers are required to have a certain understanding of these English-speaking countries. It also includes the customs of these countries. After teaching for three years, I found a phenomenon: as long as I interspersed some European and American customs in the class, even if it was only a little, most students immediately showed strong interest and were particularly serious. Some people have asked to speak again. At this time, students' attention is in a state of high concentration, and classroom efficiency is naturally high. Therefore, teachers should also pay attention to the accumulation of this aspect, which is precisely the charm of a teacher's personality: because the more knowledge you give students in this aspect, the easier it is for students to be interested, and the more focused they are in class, the higher the classroom efficiency. Moreover, students will have a feeling of admiration for you. This will greatly enhance the prestige of teachers among students, so that when you are in class, students' attention will be relatively concentrated and classroom efficiency will be guaranteed.

Third, teachers should constantly improve their professional knowledge.

As a teacher, you can't take a good class without profound professional knowledge. Because students mainly master the content required by the syllabus in class. For example, in English teaching, book knowledge, oral English, listening and so on. For students, how to master these contents quickly and easily, for teachers, need to use deep professional knowledge as the basis. In the classroom, teachers are in a "dominant" position. Don't underestimate the word "guide". If it is misleading, "subject" students will make a series of mistakes. There is a famous saying, "Trains run fast. It all depends on the front belt, if even the front is derailed. What about the "subject" behind it? So this "good guidance" or "bad guidance" depends on the teacher in class. If you don't have profound professional knowledge, and your eloquence is no matter how good, how can you impart the knowledge required by the syllabus to students? How can we organically combine the knowledge before and after? As the main body of learning, it is impossible for students to participate easily, on the contrary, it will be very difficult. So, how can students concentrate? Classroom efficiency can be imagined. If your spoken English and listening skills are poor, you will make mistakes when you talk to students and have a listening test. Then your students will only pay attention to your mistakes and will not concentrate on listening. Because they will think that your teacher has only this level, so don't listen to this class. Do you think the classroom efficiency will be high? What's more, it will affect your prestige among your classmates. Imagine that a teacher with low prestige will pay 100% attention to your lecture? The answer is definitely "no". Some even think: Will it be wrong again? This not only affects the efficiency of a class. The consequences are very serious. This consequence is because you lack profound professional knowledge, which directly leads to misleading students in class. Therefore, I said that teachers who lack profound professional knowledge will not concentrate at all and will not be able to attend classes at all.

Fourth, teachers should pay attention to the volume in class;

After listening to many classes, we all know that some teachers are very loud in class. Sitting at the back of the class, I feel very comfortable; Some teachers have a low voice in class, so they can't hear clearly in the back. People will think that we can't hear clearly and students can't hear clearly. Will there be a student union then? From here, we can also know that the teacher's volume will also determine students' attention in class. We know that talking loudly gives others the impression that this person is full of energy; On the contrary, it is weak. What students need in class is a lively and passionate classroom atmosphere, in which students actively participate in classroom teaching. Loud voices will stimulate students' senses and make them feel that the teacher is full of passion. One of my students once wrote in his composition: "I like your passion in class, and I like teachers who have a loud voice in class ..." This also shows what kind of classes students like. If we speak as loudly as possible and pay attention to the methods of class, then our students will take the initiative to participate in classroom teaching. In this way, how can the atmosphere of this class be bad? How can students not concentrate? Then the classroom efficiency will not be bad. So I think the teacher's class volume will also directly affect students' attention and classroom efficiency.

Fifth, strengthen the emotional communication between teachers and students;

The relationship between teachers and students is mutual. If a teacher and a student just teach and learn, then the teacher is definitely an unsuccessful teacher. The relationship between teachers and students involves several aspects. The most important thing is to study and live. I have heard students say, "I don't like teacher XXX, he doesn't care about our study." Class is over. I like teacher XXX. He patiently guides me in class and tries to help me solve problems after class. He is very concerned about my study and life. ..... "In fact, these words of students refer to the emotional communication between teachers and students. I think the latter will be more efficient in class than the former. Because he pays attention to the communication between teachers and students. If you can strengthen the communication between teachers and students in class through various channels, such as a gesture of approval, a word of praise and a smile, you will have an impact on students, which are all emotional communication with students. After three years, I feel that all students like teachers who have these exchanges and like such classes. Which students don't want to listen to such a teacher? This also invisibly attracts students' attention in class, and the classroom efficiency is high. In addition, strengthening communication with students after class will indirectly affect the attention of classroom students. Because I think if a teacher pays attention to strengthening communication with students in peacetime and makes students feel that the teacher cares about students, then the teacher is friendly in the eyes of students and the relationship between teachers and students is harmonious. When he is in class, students will be more likely to accept the teacher and actively participate in the teaching of this class. It is with these emotional exchanges as the foundation that the classroom atmosphere at this time will be very harmonious, students' interest in learning will be very strong, their enthusiasm will be very high, and how can their attention not be highly concentrated?

I think these points are very important, and there is no need to prioritize. Both of them complement each other and are important components to improve students' attention and ensure classroom efficiency. Of course, this is just my personal experience. I hope everyone will criticize and correct me.
