Baoyan's joke

I just want to talk about my own views here. In the minds of most people in China, higher education is always a commendable thing. Your parents may not approve of your graduate study, which should be said to be relatively rare parents in China. Parents do this for no more than two reasons. First, they want you to go to a better university abroad for further study. Second, I think a bachelor's degree is enough, and it will take a lot of time to continue studying. After finishing graduate school, I will come out to work hard for a few years. By the time I get married and have children, I should have passed my thirties. More traditional parents may be reluctant to let their children get married so late.

You can't say your parents are short-sighted. Maybe they think more. In addition, the gap between undergraduate and graduate students is not very big now. Two or three years of work experience is not necessarily worse than three years of graduate students. Finally, I think it depends on your major and personal interests. If you want to continue your graduate studies, it doesn't matter whether they support it or not.
