The history of Jiajiazhuang

Before liberation, Jiajiazhuang was a famous poor village in Fenyang County. There is a legend: "The west of the village is wet and the east of the village is dry, and the south of the village is alkali and barren beach in the north of the village. In spring, the alkaline is white, and in summer it is rainy and waterlogged. There are only three treasures in the village, sweet endive, willow buds, reeds and grass. Women will not marry in Jiajiazhuang , married to Jiazhuang and suffered from panic." The ballad. However, the spirit of collectivism has quietly taken root and sprouted in this hot soil.

A hundred pouting heads made a revolution

In 1952, the poor and lower-middle farmers in Jiajiazhuang established the first primary production cooperative in Fenyang County on the basis of mutual aid groups. It expanded from 19 households to 72 households, with more people and more land; people were full of energy and worked together to promote production. However, due to the weak foundation, there are almost no large-scale production means, and the large livestock necessary for farming are simply not enough, making it difficult to start developing production.

In the spring of 1953, when planting was about to begin, the cooperative still had 300 acres of land that had not been cultivated, and most of this land was hardened saline-alkali land. If it could not be plowed on time, there would be problems with planting. People were so anxious that the cooperatives had no choice but to hire livestock from wealthy households with many livestock. However, some wealthy households took the opportunity to take advantage of the situation and not only refused to lend their livestock, but also said in a sarcastic tone: "Didn't your president say, 'There is no need for upstairs and downstairs, electric lights and telephones, no oil for lighting, and no need for cattle for farming the land.'" Why are you still borrowing livestock from us?"

A wealthy household took the opportunity to put forward very harsh conditions. He said: "If you hire my livestock now, I will also borrow it when the fields are busy. You can come whenever you need your labor, and you must pay as much as you want." The people in the cooperative were forced to say, "We will pay you as much as you want for your livestock, but we cannot exchange it for labor. , let alone come at any time you want!" The two of them started to quarrel. Finally, the rich man glared and said, "If you don't have to work in exchange for it, then I won't do it. You just give me the money. Even if you tie them to the rake, don't even think about using my livestock!"

On the one hand, the season did not wait for anyone, and on the other hand, the wealthy households deliberately "stuck their necks". The commune members were extremely angry, but they stood up and made the decision. The "poor sticks" who unite are ambitious. They vow to use all means to plow the land and never let the rich households laugh at them. Under the leadership of the president Jia Huanxing, everyone decided to use people to pull plows and dig the ground to win the battle of spring plowing and spring planting. The next day, the cooperative dispatched 30 strong laborers to pull plows and organized 100 strong laborers to dig the land with hoe. Men, women, old and young mobilized together and worked continuously day and night. They were not afraid of thirst, hunger, complaint, or tiredness. They just plowed and plowed 300 acres of land in four days and nights. Then it was time to plant. There were not enough seeds, so some commune members used their remaining rations to make seeds; some sold women's jewelry and silver bracelets to buy seeds from other places. When it was time to plant, there were not enough livestock, so the members organized people to pull columbines, ensuring that the cooperative's more than 1,000 acres of land were planted on time.

This year, the cooperative had a bumper harvest, its total grain output hit a new record, and its yield per mu was much higher than that of individual households. All the members were elated and elated. Seeing that the cooperative has more people and is more powerful, the wealthy households no longer dare to make irresponsible remarks.

Changing alkali and water treatment to eradicate poverty

From 1954 to 1965, a tough battle to control water and alkali was in full swing to determine the fate of the whole village. The industrious and intelligent Jiajiazhuang people creatively adopted methods such as "opening ditches and intercepting water, ditching the fields, raising and lowering the ground, shallow watering to wash the alkali, spreading sand and pressing the alkali, moving the alkaline soil, and applying more fertilizers" to drive away the alkali demon and remove the alkali demon. The poor roots were removed and a pastoral beauty was carefully drawn with "square fields, rows of trees, connected canals, connected roads, irrigation in droughts and drainage in floods". 120,000 pieces of work have been invested, 420,000 cubic meters of earth moved, and more than 2,650 acres of alkali beach and alkali land have been completely cured. In 1965, the average yield per mu reached 816 kilograms, making it the first village in the north whose grain production spanned the Yangtze River. It was known as the prosperous and exquisite north and south of the Yangtze River.

From 1958 to 1966, Jiajiazhuang Village launched a vigorous agricultural machinery reform movement. Skilled craftsmen showed their talents and successively innovated and created the three-tooth columbine, top dressing columbine, hand thresher, thresher, mower, rice mill, flour grinder, oil press, feed grinder, etc., innovating various machinery for nineteen years. Thirty-four sets (pieces) were planted.

In the spring of 1965, Vice Premier Tan Zhenlin personally visited Jiajiazhuang to inspect agricultural mechanization work, and identified Jiajiazhuang as a rural collective mechanization pilot. Some agricultural machinery went to Beijing to participate in the National Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition. That summer, Jiajiazhuang was established as a banner for national agricultural mechanization.

One episode: Five Unifications, Three Fields to Households

In 1979, the prelude to rural reform began, and the wave of household responsibility for production swept across the country. In other rural areas, since the collectives had few assets, they were divided immediately. And Jiajiazhuang has accumulated millions of yuan in assets through the dedication and pioneering of the older generation of Communist Party members. If divided downwards, how should it be divided? After it is divided, it will become an "empty shell village" and there will be no motivation for further development. Huge pressure is placed in front of Xing Limin, secretary of the Party branch of Jiajiazhuang Village. Still refusing to decentralize, a voice of opposition roared out. At that time, someone made up a folk song like this: Put it on top, look down, and there is a door bar in the middle (referring to Xing Limin). The secretary of the county party committee and the secretary of the prefectural party committee talked to Xing many times. The deputy governor said that "after the responsibility system, cadres can no longer eat the people's flesh and drink the people's blood." At this critical juncture of historical decisions, the young village party branch secretary Xing Limin organized the Communist Party members in Jiajiazhuang to seriously study the spirit of relevant central government documents, and on the other hand organized people to conduct inspections and demonstrations. Especially after Comrade Ma Feng affirmed, we cannot do one size fits all, nor can we just cut it in one size. Based on reality, in 1982, he creatively put forward the fresh management experience of two-tier management and decided to implement the strategic decision of one centralization, five unifications, and three fields to households.

The two-tier management system laid the foundation for Jiajiazhuang’s agricultural modernization. The cultivated land in the whole village is "sixty to seventy acres per square field, with two canals and four rows of trees along the way. The canals form a network, the land forms a square, and the roads are straight and lined with trees." Realized farmland forest network, scientific planting, and mechanized operation. At the same time, the collective has successively established flower farms, non-staple food processing plants, edible fungus factories, feed processing plants, pig farms, chicken farms and soft-shell turtle greenhouse farms. A one-stop "agricultural" brand industry has been formed, and agricultural modernization has begun to take shape.

There is no stability without farming, no wealth without work, and no life without business. After 1986, collective enterprises developed steadily from a high starting point, and successively established plastic factories, woven bag factories, woodware factories, agricultural repair factories, paper mills, printing factories, gas stove factories, artificial marble factories, coking factories No. 1 and 2, and laser factories. There are more than 20 holographic anti-counterfeiting trademark projects and ferrocene chemical projects, which have used a "snowball" method to strengthen the collective economy and complete capital accumulation. Through continuous integration of small enterprises, elimination of polluting enterprises, transformation of energy-consuming enterprises, and development of green enterprises, a large pattern of coordinated development of agriculture, industry and commerce has been formed, which has given wings to the economy of Jiajiazhuang to take off.

Take off and leap forward

In 1995, Xing Limin, secretary of the Party branch of Jiajiazhuang Village, was named a national model worker. Seeing the advanced deeds of various units at that time, Secretary Xing felt: If a village wants to develop, it must join a large enterprise. Only as a large enterprise can it achieve great benefits. After many investigations and arguments, it was decided to launch a special cement plant with a 100,000-ton rotary kiln. But faced with a project budget of 58 million yuan, he sold his car and rode a dilapidated bicycle to the construction site to eat and live with the workers. Eighteen months of hard work have enabled Jiajiazhuang's collective business to develop by leaps and bounds. On March 28, 1997, Jiajiazhuang Special Cement Plant was officially put into operation. The ideal of unity and prosperity for the people of Jiajiazhuang has become stronger since then.
