What is the level of Japanese N 1?

Japanese N 1 is the highest level in the Japanese proficiency test. N 1 level, can read a wide range of Japanese newspapers and understand most Japanese conversations. The N 1 and N2 exams are based on two subjects: language knowledge (words, vocabulary and grammar), reading and listening.
