There have been many eruptions in Huangshi National Park, forming numerous fountains, hot springs and steam-emitting landforms, among which the Grand Prism is the largest hot spring in Huangshi National Park.

The Grand Prism Hot Spring is the largest hot spring in America and the third largest hot spring in the world. The water depth is about 49 meters, the diameter is about 100 meters, the water temperature is as high as 85℃, and 2000 liters of spring water are ejected every minute. It was first discovered by explorers in 1839. The Great Prism Spring is also one of the most famous geysers in Yellowstone National Park.

The big prism spring presents five colors of blue, green, yellow, orange, orange and red from the inside out. The dramatic color of the big prism hot spring is composed of the interaction of physics, chemistry and biology. Blue is a visual effect, and orange and brown are composed of bacteria living near the boiling point. The beauty of the big prism hot spring lies in that the color of the lake changes with the seasons. In summer, it appears orange, red or yellow. But in winter, the water is dark green.

The crimson terrain around the spring water is also scattered near the spring water when it erupts, because the spring water contains a lot of minerals, and its peculiar scenery is finally formed after years of precipitation.
