Brief introduction of Turpan

Turpan is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is located in the intermountain basin in the central and eastern Xinjiang and the eastern Tianshan Mountains, also known as Huozhou. It is adjacent to Hami in the east, to Hejing County, heshuo County, Yuli County and Ruoqiang County in Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in the west and south, and to Qitai County, Jimsar County, Rem County and Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture in Urumqi in the north. It is a transportation hub connecting China, Xinjiang, Central Asia and northern and southern Xinjiang.
