Brief introduction of Changyang South District

Changyang Nanqu is commonly known as Nanqu and Sixian Class. It is popular in Changyang, Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County and Yichang, among which Qiu Zi Town in Changyang is the most popular, with a history of nearly 200 years. Singing can be divided into two categories: "Nanqu" and "Beiqu". "Nanqu" is the main genre of Changyang Nanqu, and "Northern Tune" has only one "parasitic" tune. Traditional Nanqu is mainly for leisure and self-entertainment, and the singing form is sitting singing. There are "Seven Sages of Bamboo Forest" and other non-governmental organizations. When singing, there is no makeup or performance, and the singer plays the three-string accompaniment. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Changyang Nanqu added bands and performances, which became a form of mass cultural activities.
