According to the Records of Nanxiong Prefecture in Zhili, there is an East River in Lingtan, and the river slowly accumulates into a pool, so residents make profits in the pool, so it is called Lingtan.

There is also a folk legend that Lingtan Village built a "lower temple" in its early years, and there was a pool behind the lower temple. The villagers prayed here that everything would work, hence the name "Lingtan".

It is said that one side of the soil and water will support one side. Lingtan Village has outstanding people and profound red history. This is the hometown of Zhong Jiaopan, a revolutionary martyr, and also the source of Nanxiong peasant riots.

After the failure of the Great Revolution, in order to resist the bloody slaughter of the Kuomintang reactionaries, the Guangdong Party organization led the people of the whole province to hold a massive armed riot. The violent development of armed riots all over the country, including Guangdong, inspired Nanxiong people to continue their revolutionary struggle.

1928 February 12, Nanxiong County Committee of the Communist Party of China held an emergency meeting in Yuanyangxu, Lingtan Village to implement the spirit of the "August 7th" meeting of the Central Committee. The meeting decided to hold an armed riot in the county on the evening of 13 and made careful arrangements.

The next night, heavy snow fell, and farmers in the county held armed riots at the same time. The scale of the riots is rare in this province. Yuanyangwei became the source of peasant riots in Nanxiong.

/kloc-at the beginning of 0/929, the Red Fourth Front Army evacuated from Jinggangshan arrived in Huangmuling, Wujing, Nanxiong to camp. When the enemy learned this, they prepared to surround the Red Army in two ways. At this critical moment, because the reconnaissance team led by Zhong Jiaopan, a guerrilla cadre in Lingtan Village, delivered this information in time, the Red Fourth Front Army moved overnight, the enemy closed the air superiority, and the Red Army turned the corner.

Marshal Zhu De recalled in "Biography of Zhu De": "When we arrived at Wujing, it was getting dark and everyone was very tired, so we talked, had a meeting and camped on Pingbazi. But when the enemy came, it was 9 pm, and we had no idea. At this time, the detective sent by the local party branch brought news. We set off at once without even blowing the horn. The fate of the Red Army this time is extremely dangerous. If there is no local party branch, it will be ruined by the enemy. "

Zhong Jiaopan was also one of the three people who completed Nanxiong's Long March. 1939 was unfortunately bombed by Japanese planes when he went to Yanan to report his work in September. There is also Deng Shiqian from Lingtan Village. He first served as the staff officer of the first bureau of the Central Military Commission, and then served as the intelligence officer of the second bureau after the Long March to northern Shaanxi. His death on the eve of the founding of New China was impressive. Bloody yellow flowers, heroes sleep. Standing in front of the slogan of the Red Army in Hengfeng Ancestral Temple, I think of those brave and touching people and things, and my heart is filled with emotion. ...

Time flies, time flies. Although nearly a century has passed, we can still feel the historical afterheat that seems to have never gone far, the shocking peasant riots in Pingtian liquidation, and the vigorous scene of the Great Revolution.

During the period from 1940 to 1944, Guangdong Army General Hospital was stationed in Lingtan Village, witnessing the bonfire years of saving lives. Red culture is the "soul" of Lingtan Village. It has also become a red education base.

Before 20 16, this red hot land with such genes had a name that made it difficult for villagers to say-"Mud Village". The houses here are dilapidated, the roads are muddy, the economy is backward, and the incidence of poverty is 5.72%. It is a poverty-stricken village assisted by the provincial level.

Since 20 16, with the careful help of the provincial commission for discipline inspection, a number of precision poverty alleviation industrial projects have started construction one after another. New countryside, flue-cured tobacco house, Lingtan yuba factory and mushroom plantation have been built and put into operation one after another, and the day of happiness and well-off is approaching.

After several years of development and construction, Lingtan Village was selected as the second batch of national rural tourism key villages in August 2020.

Now, into Lingtan Village, there are white walls and tiles, scattered new buildings, spacious and tidy village roads, small bridges and flowing water, pavilions and waterside pavilions, and the banks of willows are full of flowers and flowing water. The water is clear and the sky is blue. In the autumn wind, the original beauty of rural scenery makes people shine, as if they had entered a beautiful scroll of Jiangnan ink painting.
