Taiping Lake Scenic Area-located in the northwest of huangshan district, Huangshan City, between Huangshan Mountain and Jiuhuashan Mountain, is an important part of the tourism development strategy of "two mountains and one lake" (Huangshan Mountain, Jiuhuashan Mountain and Taiping Lake) in Anhui Province. Taiping Lake Scenic Area Management Committee was established in 1999. It is the working body responsible for the development, construction, management and protection of Taiping Lake Scenic Area on behalf of huangshan district Municipal Committee and huangshan district Municipal People's Government. Hutaiping Town was merged from Hutaiping Town and Yangguang Town in February 2006. Located in the core of the Lake District, with an area of 164 square kilometers, it governs 7 villages and 62 villagers' groups with a total population of nearly 10,000. In March, 2006, Taiping Lake Management Committee and Taiping Lake Town were co-located, and a "four brands, one team, one decision" organization was implemented, with five major offices: Party and government, social affairs, economic development, tourism development and planning and construction. Through common positioning and joint efforts, we can integrate the political and economic resources of Taiping Lake, optimize the management of regional affairs, and better realize the leap-forward development of Taiping Lake.

Taiping Lake has excellent ecology and first-class water features. The forest coverage rate of scenic spots is over 95%, which is 5.2 times of the national average. The concentration of negative oxygen ions in the air in the scenic spot has been stable at more than 20 thousand per cubic centimeter for a long time, which is dozens of times higher than that in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other cities. The excellent rate of air quality is 100%, which is a veritable natural oxygen bar. Taiping Lake is famous for its water, and its water body has reached the national first-class standard all the year round. It is known as Jiangnan Emerald, Huangshan Couple and Oriental Geneva. Wang Shuo, a contemporary poet, once described Taiping Lake as follows: Tianchi Lake is not so cordial and Taihu Lake is not so deep; There is no such green in the Three Gorges and no such smoke in the Lijiang River. Fuchun has no such cold, nor does he have such a mind to learn Chinese characters; Qianlong has no such pleasure, and Jiangnan has no such water journey.
