The main causes of safety accidents in university laboratories are as follows

According to incomplete statistics, in recent years, there have been more than 200 laboratory safety accidents in colleges and universities in China, which have caused 48 deaths [2] and brought great losses to people's life safety and national property. Analyzing the causes of laboratory safety accidents in recent years, the author thinks that there are both moral reasons and technical reasons, both subjective and objective reasons.

(1) Moral reasons 1. Case Analysis Following thallium poisoning in Tsinghua and Peking University at the end of last century, poisoning incidents occurred again in China University of Mining and Technology, Fudan University and Yangzhou University. Although the criminals were brought to justice, it sounded the alarm for the Chinese people. What kind of resentment makes the poisoner's heart burn such a flame of hatred, so fierce and necessary. When we condemn the distorted mind of the poisoner and sympathize with the youth of the victim, do we think there are loopholes in the existing education system and management system? When we abhor these cruel acts and are shocked by these distorted minds, have we ever wondered whether families, schools and society should attach importance to their mental health and be "shepherds" of their hearts in the process of their primary, secondary and university education, just as they attach importance to their academic performance and what famous schools they are admitted to? From kindergarten to university, society places too much emphasis on competition. "Being the first and being an excellent person" has become the pursuit goal of children, while "win-win cooperation" has been ignored by modern education. Do you know that the socialist cause is the cause of thousands of people in Qian Qian? Have colleges and universities really taught students that "if you want to succeed, you must be an adult first"? Do you really carry forward the spirit that Deng Jiaxian and Qian Xuesen, the great masters of science, gave up the superior conditions of the United States for the sake of national prosperity and resolutely returned to China to serve the country when the country was extremely difficult? 2. Countermeasures In recent years, China has made remarkable achievements in science and technology. At the same time, there have been some problems in modern education that deviate from the university spirit. It is very important to return to campus with the reason that "the way of university lies in virtue, being close to the people and stopping at perfection". Mold students with correct outlook on life and values, and let them know that a person with sound mind and noble personality is more valuable to society than those who are well-educated but do not hesitate to harm the interests of others for their own sake. Moderate competition can play the role of rewarding diligence and punishing laziness and promoting social development, but excessive disorderly competition will inevitably lead to the destruction of resources and environment and hinder social fairness and justice. The introduction of competition mechanism in higher education promotes teaching and scientific research, but excessive disorderly competition stimulates the occurrence of "jealousy", a potential original sin of mankind.

(2) Technical reasons 1. Case Analysis In recent years, due to the reasons of disorderly pulling wires, littering and inadequate safety responsibilities, safety accidents have occurred frequently. The reasons are as follows: ① Common sense such as indifference to safety awareness, disconnection between theory and practice, and sodium explosion in water have been emphasized many times in books, but such incidents still occur from time to time in practical work. When handling radioactive sources in a university, because the handling workers were not trained in advance, the workers put the shot, which caused radiation pollution. ② Chemical reagents and experimental equipment are randomly placed [5]. A large number of volatile organic solvents were randomly piled up in the laboratory of a university, and combustible gas volatilized in high temperature weather, causing a fire. (3) Operation error, resulting in an accident. A college student mistakenly threw a bottle of nitromethane into sodium hydroxide as tetrahydrofuran, causing an explosion and cutting his arm.
