The December 29th Movement was a large-scale student patriotic movement led by China Party during the Second Revolutionary Civil War. After 193 1 occupied the northeast of China, Japanese imperialism launched a new aggression against North China. 1In May, 935, the Japanese invaders made unreasonable demands for the sovereignty of North China to the Kuomintang government and threatened with force. The Kuomintang government completely surrendered to the Japanese invaders and signed the River-America Agreement with Japan, which made China lose most of the sovereignty of Hebei and Chahar. On June+10 in 5438, the Japanese aggressors instigated the "autonomy movement of five provinces in North China". 165438+1On October 25th, the Japanese invaders ordered Han * to set up an autonomous government to "defend Jidong * * *", and the territory of more than 20 counties in Jidong was separated from the jurisdiction of China. Students from Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Wuhan, Changsha and other places held demonstrations in succession, and patriots from all walks of life set up national salvation associations in succession, demanding that the Kuomintang government stop the civil war and realize the anti-Japanese war, which formed a new climax of the national patriotic and democratic movement and promoted the establishment of the anti-Japanese national United front.
