Introduction to Nuremberg

Nuremberg is located in Bavaria, a city in the southeast of Germany. In a small basin on the Penits River in the northwest of Munich, Nuremberg forms a twin city with Fulda, the main city. Bayern (Bavaria), the northern industrial and commercial center of the Federal Republic of Germany, is a metropolis with a population of 500,000. Nuremberg (German: Nürnberg, or translated as Nuremberg) is the central city of the Middle Franken District in Bavaria, Germany, and the second largest city in Bavaria, second only to the capital Munich. It is the birthplace of Siemens, a world-famous large enterprise group. Nuremberg is close to its two twin cities Felt and Hellem, and the urban areas are connected, so it is often called "Greater Nuremberg Region". After World War II, the Nuremberg trial of Nazi German war criminals was held here.
