First of all, straw burning will produce smoke and dust. Say smoke first. According to our middle school knowledge, the smoke produced by straw burning is actually carbon dioxide, which is one of the components of the atmosphere, and this carbon dioxide will be converted into oxygen through photosynthesis of plants. Now let's talk about dust. Unlike the dust produced by chemical industry, the dust produced by straw combustion is not toxic. More importantly, the burning time of straw is very short, and the dust generated will soon settle.

In fact, air pollutants mainly include five substances, namely dust/inhalable particles, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and so on. However, straw burning will not produce the latter three substances. As for the inhalable particulate matter produced by straw burning, it can be almost ignored because of the short burning time of straw.

Secondly, China has burned straw in rural areas for thousands of years, but the sky has always been blue and the water has always been clear, which has not caused much pollution to the environment. Straw burning has been banned for several years now, and there is basically no straw burning, but the air quality has not improved much. This fully shows that the chief culprit of air quality and environmental pollution is not the burning of crop straw, but industrialization and modern transportation.

Therefore, I personally think that the pollution of straw burning to the environment is not as serious as experts say, or even completely planted. If we really want to talk about the harm of straw burning, it will only cause fire and smoke for a short time.
