The oldest pearl in the world! It has been 8000 years. ...

20 191From October 30th to February 30th, 2020, a natural pearl with a history of 8000 years will be exhibited in the Louvre in Abu Dhabi. This is a pale pink pearl with a diameter of about 3 mm. According to radiocarbon dating, its sedimentary layer was formed in the Neolithic Age, dating back to 5800 -5600 BC, and it is the oldest pearl ever discovered.

This pink pearl was found on 20 17, which comes from an archaeological site on Malaoa Island in the west of Abu Dhabi. Well-preserved, with small spots and scratches on the surface. This organic gem is composed of calcium carbonate and nacre secreted by marine life, which is very easy to be eroded. It is very rare to be well preserved for hundreds of years.

Prior to this, there were two important pearl archaeological discoveries in the United Arab Emirates-a 7,500-year-old pearl with a diameter of about 1.7 mm was found at the Neolithic site in Umm Qaiwan Emirates; Antique pearls of the same period were also found in the archaeological site of Jebel Buhais in the emirate of Sharjah.

The discovery of this pink pearl proves that there was a pearl trade in the Neolithic Age. /kloc-In the 6th century, the pearl industry once became the economic pillar of the UAE. With the rise of cultured pearls in Japan in the 1930s, the pearl trade in this area gradually declined and was finally replaced by the oil industry.
