How often are prison open days?

Once a year.

On July 4, students from China University of Geosciences visited the inmate canteen of Beijing Women’s Prison. On the same day, the women's prison held a "Prison Open Day" launching ceremony.

The Beijing Municipal Prison Administration Bureau specially invited more than 60 law enforcement supervisors, family members of inmates newly admitted to prison this year, and some teachers and students from China University of Geosciences. This became the first time that the Beijing Women’s Prison visited the society since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Open to public visitors.

Detention center visiting hours and requirements:

1. Unconvicted prisoners in the detention center are not allowed to visit. They are not allowed to meet anyone except their lawyers.

2. Although criminals who have been sentenced and are serving their sentences in the detention center can be visited, they cannot visit them more than three times a month. Generally speaking, visiting hours are not available on Saturdays and Sundays.

3. Not everyone has the right to visit. Generally speaking, only close relatives of the criminal or other people with close relationships can visit. However, it is allowed to send things or money to prisoners from outside, but the things must be purchased from a store affiliated with the detention center or can be delivered after inspection.
