B. Collision with Rock If you find that you can't avoid the rock (which does exist), you can turn the bow or let it hit the rock before the collision. Turning the bow will gently rotate the ship and bypass the rocks; Letting the bow hit the rock will stop the ship immediately, but it will let you adjust your course through some rotation. If there are rocks on the side of the ship, it is best for the crew to jump to the nearest side immediately before encountering the rocks. This weight will make the downstream ships bypass the rocks, and the countercurrent will make the water flow higher. Otherwise, the water will rise to resist the countercurrent, suck it down and evenly cover the boat next to the rock. Uncovered ships can usually get out of trouble. It may also help to detect the rocks in front of the water, push them away and make the crew turn back, paddle and jump to stand at the bottom of the boat. Once out of trouble, a hit ship is difficult to operate because it contains many tons of water. The first step is to scoop water quickly, and then try to park the boat in calm waters.

C. Sinking If the above situation (collision with rocks) leads to sinking, you should use ropes to seek help from the shore. Ships like this are often entangled in several tons of force, but there is usually one place that is not so serious. Make a D-ring with thick rope, cross the waterway, (if necessary, make a hole in the front), or the frame behind the ship. Tension systems (consisting of butterfly rings or carbine wheels) can be used to help lift. Try to pull the boat out of the water. Use ropes at the bow or stern to help pull to the shore. If all the above efforts fail, people and things will line up on the shore to wait for the water level to change. Avoiding sinking in whitewater exploration is the most dangerous. It should be firmly remembered that everyone's life safety is more important than keeping the boat away from the rocks.

Different drifting sections have different tools to choose from. Generally speaking, rubber raft is the most widely used, common and commonly used; Small wooden boats are suitable for rivers with straight rivers and few curved reefs; Bamboo rafts are suitable for calm rivers.

Rubber rafts are very adaptable, and even if they encounter waterfalls or steep river valleys, they can almost always save the day. Because rubber material has good flexibility, and inflatable airbags can be used for softness and rigidity, ordinary reefs can't help it, so tourists generally don't have to worry about it. In the process of drifting, the helmsman is responsible. The main task of the helmsman is to grasp the direction and balance, and deal with it properly when encountering rapids and reefs. Rubber rafts are generally equipped with several paddles for tourists to operate. When in the gentle river, tourists can indulge in boating under the guidance of the helmsman. Bamboo rafts (or rafts) are generally not suitable for use in rapids and rapids, and are easy to get stuck or sink, but they float on calm water, but they are full of charm. Tourists hold bamboo poles, hold them deeply and shallowly, and enjoy the riverside landscape. Of course, this is no longer a strict sense of drift. Small wooden boats are located between rubber rafts and bamboo rafts, and their adaptability is slightly weaker than that of rubber rafts. Their operating skills are more difficult than rubber rafts. Generally speaking, they can be drifted by eight people. In the drifting of the Three Gorges and Shennong Creek, a boat named "Pea Horn" can often be seen. Never stand or walk on rubber rafts or small wooden boats, and pay attention to keeping the balance of the hull.

At present, the most common rafting in China is mainly bamboo rafting and rubber boat rafting, and there are some special rafting, such as sheepskin rafting in Shaanxi and Gansu sections of the Yellow River and dragon boat rafting introduced from Tianmu River in Zhejiang. The tools used in drifting are different, and the things that need attention are of course different. But one thing is the same, the so-called drift, things can not be separated from water. So your clothes should be as simple and easy to dry as possible, but not too thin or too light in color. The first stage: the area with gentle water flow.

Grade II: The current in most waters is gentle with slight waves-wave height:1m.

The third level: frequent waves, but it is still easy for more experienced people to grasp the direction-wave height: 1.5-2 meters.

Level 4: It is also difficult for experienced people, and there are big obstacles to avoid-wave height: 3 meters.

Level 5: Suitable for experienced people, the life of drifters will be threatened by insurmountable obstacles-wave height: more than 3 meters.

Drift safety tips

(1) When the drifting boat passes through the dangerous beach, it should follow the instructions of the boatman and don't walk around casually. It should hold the safety rope tightly, tighten its feet and lean toward the center of the hull.

(2) In case of capsizing, you don't need to panic at all, but you should be calm, because you are wearing a life jacket;

(3) Don't get off the boat and swim casually. Even if you swim, you should swim on calm water according to the advice of the boatman, and you should not act independently away from the hull;

(4) When drifting, please pay attention to the arrows and slogans along the way, which can help you find the main waterway and be alert to the falling area in advance;

(5) When going down the rapids, please keep the boat balanced, and grasp the handrail on the inside of the boat, so that the people behind can lean back slightly, so that the two can ensure that the boat is balanced and parallel to the river and go down the river;

When the ship is stuck, you can't get up in a hurry. You should stabilize the hull and find a foothold before you can stand up, so as to ensure that people will not be washed down by the ship. When you get stuck in other waterways or run aground by mistake, please stand down and get off the boat until you find a deeper place. You can't move left and right on the boat, because drifting is a challenge to your physical strength and courage.
