Descriptive essay of Longmen Grottoes
1. An essay about the Longmen Grottoes
The melancholy sky leans ruthlessly against the west wind. Too many words, water in vain.
I couldn’t bear to break our common will, and the regret that had been growing and spreading in my heart for a long time. After many years, the promise of a mirror in the mirror finally surfaced in this connection between water and sky. There is no song of Layu, no voice of compassion for heaven and earth, no fresh and simple lotus leaves in the fields, and the flow of people of all kinds on the banks of the fishy Yishui River, like the waves rolling eastward, cannot cover up the He was filled with wonder and joy at the dull, expressionless, almost indifferent stump. Who gave this vicissitudes of culture such great charm? Songs of hymns and poems express foreign tunes with enthusiasm. The prosperity of Wei, Jin, North and South, Sui, Tang and Hanwu, passed away, leaving behind only this bleak nonsense - known as the glorious messenger of inheriting culture. Mr. Bai has been watching the sleeping Mr. Bai for more than a thousand years. How will he feel in Huangquan?
"Two majestic mountain gates, one facing the beautiful water"
According to legend, in ancient times, this large lake in the south of Luoyang was surrounded by green mountains and fragrant grass on both sides. lush. People graze their cattle in the mountains, fish in the lakes, and live a peaceful life. There was a hard-working child in the village who went to the mountains to herd sheep every day. He often heard the strange sound of "not turning on" coming from the ground. When he returned home, he told his mother about it. His mother thought for a moment and then told him to answer: "Open!" If he heard it again, the sky collapsed and the earth split. Longmen Mountain split from the middle, and the turbulent lake poured out from the crack, roaring and roaring around him. After passing Luoyang City, it flows thousands of miles to the East China Sea. After the water flow, countless clear springs burst out from the cliffs and rocks, forming fragrant pools and flowing down into waterfalls. There are countless honeycomb-like caves on the cliffs of the two mountains. The caves are full of shadowy stone statues, some with beautiful features and some with unclear outlines. They are in various shapes and forms, making it a wonder. Since then, Longmen Grottoes have become famous all over the world. If this is indeed the case, I believe that the lush wheat fields and leisurely fishermen on the riverside are not intentional.
The gate of heaven is cut off and Chu is about to open, and the clear water flows eastwards to this point. It’s not the ferocious appearance of the original Three Gorges, but the mundane appearance that has been artificially carved again and again. I want to call him "Brother Longku" in a very ironic way. Congratulations on your considerable income in recent years, but it is a pity for your physical condition. , see if any of the ads on the screen are suitable for Brother Ku? I really don't have any better ideas. Brother Ku, just give it a try! So what if I had to hide my tears. In my infancy, my parents were disobedient. I opened my eyes and lost the slanting light. The water of the Yihe River passed away and Luo Yunfei flew away. Alas, go with it!
Flying geese, heartbroken, special appearance. Hateful, deplorable. The raging Yishui wind and the roaring voices of the world. It has tarnished the green mountains and green waters that once nourished a people. Suddenly, I heard the babbling sound of the shepherd boy. When I turned around, I was not only surprised, but the cross-dressing was admirable, but the white neck and green eyes were really difficult. ..chuckle.
Nine times out of ten things in life will be unsatisfactory. I don’t want everything to be smooth sailing. I just want to be peaceful and peaceful. Too many undesirable situations are swirling in this swirling nest by the stream. The way back is just around the corner, but when I take the telescope away, it's on the other side of the Yi River. 2. Paragraph describing Longmen Grottoes
As of 2014, there are 2,345 cave niches and more than 80 pagodas in the east and west mountains.
The Longmen Grottoes are the place with the most ancient inscriptions in China, and are known as the Forest of Ancient Steles. There are more than 2,860 inscriptions in the Longmen Grottoes, including the prestigious Longmen Twenty Pieces and the Stele of the Yique Buddhist Niche by Chu Sheliang. They are models of Wei stele style and Tang Kai style respectively, and can be called the finest works of Chinese calligraphy art. There are more than 110,000 statues in the whole mountain of Longmen. These inscriptions not only record the motivation and purpose of making the statue, but also provide a basis for the archaeological dating of the grottoes. Kang Youwei, a scholar in the Qing Dynasty, once strongly advocated that the whole society should use Wei stele style for writing, and also praised Wei stele for its ten beauties, such as: jumping brushwork, natural structure, rich flesh and blood, etc.
Today, Wei stele style is also widely used as slogans and decorative characters.
It can be seen that the 20th grade plays an important role in calligraphy.

Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang is one of the three major grottoes in the world cultural heritage.
Located about 13 kilometers south of Luoyang, Henan, it is a place with beautiful scenery. Here there are two green mountains, Xiangshan Mountain and Longmen Mountain, facing each other. The Yishui River flows slowly northward. From a distance, it looks like a It is a natural gate, so it was called "Yique" in ancient times. Because it is directly opposite the palace gate, people used to call it Longmen.
A poet of the Tang Dynasty once said: In the suburbs of Luoyang, the mountains and rivers are the most beautiful, and the Dragon Gate is the first. The Longmen Grottoes are located on this high and huge Longmen Mountain.
The Longmen Grottoes were excavated by Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and continued to be constructed on a large scale for more than 400 years through the Eastern and Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, Tang and Song dynasties.
It is densely spread on the cliffs of the east and west mountains of Yishui, and is 1 kilometer long from north to south. There are 2,345 caves and niches in the east and west mountains, more than 2,680 inscriptions and tablets, more than 70 pagodas, and more than 100,000 statues.
The first cave behind the mountain on Xishan Mountain is called Guyang Cave. Guyang Cave is a natural limestone cave excavated. Construction began in 493 AD and has lasted 1,515 years. It is the earliest excavated among the Longmen Grottoes statues and has the richest Buddhist content. A cave with the highest calligraphy art.
There is no lotus caisson on the top of the cave, and the ground is horseshoe-shaped. There are more than 100,000 large and small Buddhist niches in Guyang Cave, accounting for 60% of all Buddha statues.
The appearance and design are colorful and changeable. Some have pointed arches like lotus petals, some have house-shaped buildings, some have curtains and tassels, and there are Buddhist stories carved on the lintels of the niches. Guyang Cave is also the place where the royal family and nobles of the Northern Wei Dynasty gathered most statues. Those dignitaries also left some exquisite calligraphy art. There are 20 pieces in total, 19 pieces in Guyang Cave, and another in Cixiang Kiln.
The handwriting is vigorous, upright and powerful. After seeing Guyang Cave, we came to Yaofang Cave, which got its name from the many Tang Dynasty medicine prescriptions engraved on the cave door.
It was first carved in the late Northern Wei Dynasty, passed through the Eastern Wei Dynasty and Northern Qi Dynasty, and there were still sculptures in the early Tang Dynasty. The five Buddha statues in the cave have straight bodies with few curves, short and thick necks, and strong bodies. The straps on both sides of the Bodhisattva's crown are very long and hang down to the upper part of the arms.
There are more than 150 kinds of medicinal prescriptions engraved on both sides of the cave door, and the medicines used are mostly plant, animal and mineral medicines. The prescriptions in Yaofangdong are the earliest existing stone-engraved prescriptions in my country, and they play an important role in the study of Chinese medicine.
The Lotus Cave was built during the Xiaochang period of the Northern Wei Dynasty. It is named after a huge lotus carved on the top of the cave. On the front wall is a standing statue of Sakyamuni, and on the north side is Kassapa holding a tin staff, as if he was traveling a long distance.
The Small Thousand Buddhas, which are only 2 centimeters high above the south wall, are the smallest Buddha statues in Longmen Grottoes. These small Thousand Buddhas, which are not even an inch tall, are located above the south wall of the Lotus Cave, and are vivid, detailed and lifelike. Fengxian Temple is the largest grotto among the Tang Dynasty Grottoes in Longmen, with a length of more than 30 meters and a width of more than 30 meters.
The seated statue of Lushena Buddha in the center of the grotto is the largest Buddha statue in the Longmen Grottoes. It is 17.14 meters tall, with a head height of 4 meters and an ear length of 1.9 meters. It has a plump shape, a majestic appearance, smooth clothing lines, and a high degree of artistic appeal. , is really an exquisite masterpiece of art. It was built from the end of the Wei Dynasty to the beginning of the Tang Dynasty and is divided into Binyang Middle Cave, South Cave and North Cave. The interior of Binyang Middle Cave is a horseshoe-shaped plane with a dome on the top and a lotus cover composed of large double-petaled lotuses carved in the center. Surrounding the lotus are eight celestial beings and two supporting celestial beings.
Their clothes and belts are fluttering, soaring in the wind around the lotus cover, with graceful and moving postures. Inside the cave are the themes of the three Buddhas, namely the past, present and future Buddhas.
On the north and south sides of the front wall of the cave, there are four layers of exquisite reliefs from top to bottom. The first layer is a relief sculpture based on the story of "Vimalakīrti Sutra", called "Vimalakirti Bian".
The second level is two stories of the Buddha's life. The third floor is the famous picture of emperors and empresses worshiping Buddha.
The fourth floor is the relief statue of the "Ten God Kings". In particular, the pictures of emperors and empresses worshiping Buddha on the third floor reflect the Buddhist activities in the palace and depict the pious, serious and peaceful state of mind of Buddhists.
Binyang Middle Cave took 24 years to complete and contains eleven huge Buddha statues. Some are graceful and graceful, with lifelike images; some have high noses, big eyes, and dignified postures; some have calm expressions; some have green faces and fangs, showing their teeth and claws... It is truly a Buddha cave that deserves its reputation.
After leaving Binyang Cave, we have to go to Ten Thousand Buddhas Cave. The Ten Thousand Buddhas Cave is named after the 15,000 small Buddhas neatly arranged on the north and south sides of the cave, each only four centimeters high.
There are six dancers carved on the base of the north and south walls respectively. The dancers dance gracefully to the melodious music, with light and graceful figures.
The cave has a structure of front and back chambers, with two strong men and two lions in the front chamber, and a Buddha, two disciples, two Bodhisattvas and two heavenly kings in the back chamber. The entire cave is magnificent, showing people the ideal land of the Western Paradise, and creating a warm and joyful atmosphere in which millions of people become Buddhas.
After seeing the Xishan Grottoes, we crossed the Manshui Bridge and arrived at the Dongshan Grottoes. Before the road at the foot of Dongshan was opened, there was a platform above the huge rocks. Legend has it that when Fengxian Temple was completed, Wu Zetian personally led hundreds of officials to Longmen to preside over the grand consecration ceremony. A huge band played drums on this platform to cheer up, so later generations called this place the Drum Platform.
The three holes adjacent to the Drum Tower are called the Three Holes of the Drum Tower. The Cave in the Leigu Taichung is also known as the Dawanwufo Cave.

There is a poem that reads: "If you want to ask about the past and present, please just look at Luoyang City." Luoyang is known as the "ancient capital of nine dynasties" and "Buddha" Last summer, I was lucky enough to come to Luoyang, the ancient capital, to participate in the Henan Provincial Table Tennis Tournament.
Visitors to Luoyang will know that there are three unique places in Luoyang: Luoyang peonies, Luoyang water mats and Luoyang Longmen Grottoes. After the five-day intense football match, Teacher Gao said: "Today I will take you to the Longmen Grottoes. "When everyone heard this, they jumped three feet high with joy.
The comprehensive teacher of "Longmen Grottoes" once told us in class that the stone carving art there is famous in the world. Today, my wish to see it with my own eyes finally came true.
Coming to Longmen Grottoes is like coming to the Western Heaven. There are countless Buddha statues in front of you, including Tathagata, Black Eagle, Long-bearded Buddha, Long-legged Buddha, Long-hand Immortal, etc. On the left of Tathagata there is A fairy child. There is a large circle behind Tathagata with carved characters on it and ancient characters on both sides.
The big Buddha statues are tens of meters high, while the small ones are only a few centimeters. The temperature in the grotto is almost the same throughout the year, making it very suitable for storing stone statues. The surroundings are beautiful and the breeze blowing from the lake in front is refreshing.
Under the leadership of the teacher, we walked along the wall and arrived at the Thousand Buddha Cave in a short while. Thousand Buddha Cave is the size of a room and three to four meters high.
Both the four walls and the ceiling of the cave are covered with small Buddha statues about 20 centimeters high. The top and bottom of the Buddha statues are connected with their heads and feet, and they sit side by side on the left and right. They have the same appearance and a peaceful expression.
Looking up at the top of the cave, the Buddha statues are like summer stars, which is dazzling. After the visit, we walked out of the cave.
Seeing tourists in various costumes walking up and down the stone stairs built along the water flow, from a distance, it looks like a phosphorescent dragon snaking and wriggling on the mountain path. The "giant dragon" adds infinite vitality to this pure, thousand-year-old land.
Looking at the statues in Longmen Grottoes, every visitor can’t help but admire them. These statues are carved from many huge stones. Just look at the countless stones. Each one weighs three to four thousand kilograms. There was no machinery at that time, so it had to rely on countless hands and the efforts of countless working people.
