The Development Course of Founder Paper-cutting

In 1979, in an exhibition of mass comprehensive art works held in the county, 18 pieces of folk paper-cut art works created by Zhao Xiangrong and others had a unique style, which provided new ideas for mass art activities. The government decided to take paper-cut art as a key mass art category, excavate and sort it out, and popularize it.

Since 198, the staff of founder county Cultural Center have been going deep into the countryside for more than two years, visiting and investigating among the masses, and have seen paper-cut works on the cabinets of Xin 'an Township Hotel, the windows, doors and walls of some villages and towns. They found 23 paper-cutting experts, such as Lin Youai and Yang Guijie, who are in their sixties. From then on, they decided that folk paper-cutting did have a deep mass base.

In p>1982, Zhang Desheng, the art cadre of the Cultural Center, led Zhao Xiangrong, the backbone of paper-cutting, and others to hold a pilot study class for four people in Hongqi Village, Songnan Township for the first time. Twenty-one works were exhibited in the Cultural Center, which was welcomed by the masses. Among them, Ni Xiumei's work "Into Shade" was published in Heilongjiang Forestry Newspaper, which opened the curtain for the popularization of folk paper-cutting art among the masses.

According to the characteristics of rural production and life and women's housework, it went deep into villages to set up neighborhood classes and kang classes, set up six paper-cutting groups, and 52 people participated in the activities, creating 38 paper-cutting works. In that year, a comprehensive art exhibition-paper-cutting works column was held in Fangzheng Cultural Center, showing 9 works, which inspired urban and rural amateur paper-cutting lovers.

In p>1984, founder county Cultural Center launched a "snowballing" campaign, "bringing the old with the new", held classes continuously, and strengthened counseling. On the basis of the original, the county's paper-cutting team grew to 152 people, and 8 paper-cutting artists were discovered and trained. In that year, 1 works were selected and an exhibition of paper-cutting works was held. At that time, the regional cultural bureau gave a high evaluation, and the county cultural center decided to use paper-cutting.

In p>1984, Founder paper-cut group was invited to attend the first academic conference of Chinese paper-cut art-Heilongjiang paper-cut creation experience exchange meeting.

In the same year, Founder Paper-cutting participated in the joint exhibition of Heilongjiang, Guizhou, Henan and Shaanxi provinces.

In p>1985, founder county Cultural Center began to improve the quality of paper-cut works while continuing to organize, expand the ranks and do a good job in popularization. The backbone forces, mainly Zhao Xiangrong, Chen Hongxia, Ni Xiumei and Arber Xu, were organized to carry out paper-cutting counseling in urban primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, schools for the deaf and the elderly, and 92 people participated in paper-cutting activities. More than 4 works, such as "Good Teacher" and "Flying to the Moon", were exhibited in founder county Kindergarten, and the provincial TV station also recorded a photo of 5-year-old Xu Yingying. This year, 18 urban and rural paper-cutting groups have been established, and 244 people participated in the activities. In July of the same year, founder county Cultural Center held a "Special Exhibition of Folk Paper-cut Works", and among the 3, works collected, 12 were selected for exhibition, which promoted the improvement of paper-cut art level. At the same time, 19 works were selected and made into 1 volumes of hardcover "China Folk Paper-cut Collection" for folk art exchange with Japan. From this year on, founder county Cultural Center began to collect and sort out works among the people, set up paper-cut art archives, recommend excellent works to newspapers and magazines, and develop members of paper-cut art associations at all levels.

In June, 1986, founder county Cultural Center held a "Folk Paper-cutting Exhibition", which was visited by Chao Mei, Chairman of the Provincial Artists Association, Qu Min, Director of the Regional Cultural Bureau, Yu Xianda, an art theorist, Heilongjiang Daily, radio station and regional news center.

In July, 1986, the "Founder Paper-cutting Group Exhibition" was held in Songhua River area of Heilongjiang Province.

In September, 1986, Founder Paper-cut participated in the "Road of Life" exhibition of popular science art photography and paper-cut works held in Heilongjiang Province.

In July, 1987, Founder Paper-cutting participated in the joint exhibition of new paper-cutting works held by 18 provinces, cities and regions in China.

In October, 1987, Founder Paper-cutting Album was edited by Founder Literature and Art Federation, with Wang Huaixi as the editor-in-chief.

In February, 1988, Heilongjiang Provincial Art Museum held the "Founder Paper-cutting Exhibition", which exhibited more than 4 works. Chen Lei, the governor, Yang Jiao, the propaganda minister of the provincial party committee, and Zhao Rongsheng, the secretary of the prefectural party committee, made speeches on Founder paper-cutting at the press conferences of 14 newspapers inside and outside the province.

In August p>1988, founder county Archives Bureau established Founder Paper-cut Archives (who's who in founder county).

On September 9th, 1988, founder county Paper-cut participated in the first paper-cut art festival in Heilongjiang Province, and his works won the Silver Crane Cup and the Copper Crane Cup respectively. Some of his papers were included in the Collection of Paper-cut in Heilongjiang Province.

On January 24th, 1989, Founder Paper-cut Exhibition, sponsored by China Folk Art Museum, Heilongjiang Branch of China Artists Association, Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Culture, Songhuajiang District Administrative Office and founder county People's Government, was exhibited in China Art Museum, with 88 authors and 459 works on display. Among them, 26 works by 14 people were collected by China Art Museum. In June of the same year, the outstanding works of Founder's paper-cutting were exhibited in the second China Art Festival "The Voice of Swan" and received favorable comments. Heilongjiang Radio Station, Heilongjiang Daily and Heilongjiang Provincial Radio Station made special reports on paper-cutting art activities respectively.
