According to the Wuyi County Statistics Bureau, at the end of 2022, the county’s permanent population was 469,000, which was basically the same as the permanent population at the end of 2021. Among the permanent population, the urban population is 298,000 and the rural population is 171,000. The proportion of urban population in the total population (i.e., urbanization rate) is 63.5, an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared with 2021.

Wuyi County has Yanfu Temple, a national key cultural relic protection unit located in Tao Village, Taoxi Town. It was built in the second year of Tianfu in the Later Jin Dynasty (938). Yuyuan Taiji Xingxiang ancient building complex. Shuxi Bridge, Red Army Slogan of Shanggan Pagoda, Fabao Elephant Dragon Pagoda, Lu Zuqian’s Tomb and Mingzhao Temple are some of the provincial key cultural relics protection units. There are more than 40 county-level cultural relics protection units such as Xunfeng Tower, Shiliang Jiawu, Mingyang Tower, and Shang and Zhou ruins in Fenghuang Mountain. There is also a provincial-level Longtan-Guodong Scenic Area. Huashan, Taishan, Shi'eyan, Qingfengzhai, Shouxian Valley and other city and county-level scenic spots.
