Targeted Poverty Alleviation: Helping not only the poor, but also the spirit

(Correspondent: Wu Yi)

How many times have I looked for you without fear of wind and rain, how many times have I walked cautiously in the ravine;

How many times have I braved the scorching sun and been covered in sweat Toru, how many times have I gritted my teeth before I gave up;

I am not afraid of the steep mountain road, I walk year after year, and stay in the countryside with my true love, not for myself;

The love on the mountain road is long and long , What do I want in my heart? The responsibility for national rejuvenation is heavy, and ordinary things add beauty.

In recent years, the results of targeted poverty alleviation have been obvious. However, outside the scope of targeted poverty alleviation, the "hidden poor people" who have a greater risk of returning to poverty are often ignored. In order to understand the living conditions of the "invisible poor" and find ways to solve "invisible poverty", the Law School of Xiangtan University went to the Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture Practice Group to conduct research on "hidden poverty" under "targeted poverty alleviation".

The fastest and slowest thing in the world, the longest and shortest thing, the most ordinary thing but the most precious thing, the most easily ignored thing and the most regrettable thing is time. The white horse passes by, and the sun flies by. Although I missed the morning in the countryside and the simplicity of the villagers, the end of the survey came quietly. In just a few days, from complaints to reluctance, what I saw, heard and felt in the villages in western Hunan has been engraved in my bones and is unforgettable.

The research team conducted interviews with many poor households. Various factors such as being laid off due to the economic crisis, being hospitalized multiple times due to illness within a year, losing the workforce at home due to the death of a relative, and having too many children who cannot afford to go to school, etc., have led to family hardship. During the interview, the team members learned that poor households have different experiences and stories, but they all bear a heavy burden due to poverty and struggle to make ends meet every day.

But the team members are a little lucky. These are the past, the past tense, not the present, let alone the future. What is even more fortunate is that the villagers have not lost their enthusiasm to get rid of poverty because of their former poverty. They have learned breeding techniques and used e-commerce to promote. They are actively looking for a way out of poverty with the help of the government.

With the help of targeted poverty alleviation policies, the mountains on their bodies were lifted, and their faces were filled with relaxed and satisfied smiles. But at the same time, there are still "nail households" in every village that cause poverty alleviation workers a headache. These "nail households" would rather live in dilapidated houses than invest some funds and provide labor to buy themselves a more comfortable one. A bright place to live, but waiting for the government to release more funds.

Really feeling the thought of "waiting, relying, and wanting", the team members couldn't help but sigh, "The ambition that has been supported is my backbone; the wisdom that has been helped is my backbone." A song "After all the suffering, the joy comes" tells the true meaning of targeted poverty alleviation. Farmers are not afraid of hardship or tiredness, but they are afraid of losing the solidity engraved in their bones and losing the idea of ??getting rich through hard work that has been passed down from generation to generation. But everyone firmly believes that the "lazy man" mentality will be corrected, and the fight against poverty requires not only the government's attentiveness, but also the attentiveness of poor households.

Targeted poverty alleviation not only helps the poor, but also helps the spirit. The rising sun slowly rises, and the golden morning light envelopes the countryside, shining on the hard-working and smart villagers. The victory horn of the fight against poverty is about to sound...
