The causes and characteristics of modern Chinese nationalism

Reason: At the end of the 19th century, the Manchu Qing government faced a series of social contradictions involving internal and external troubles, characterized by "anti-Manchu". "Drive out the Tartars and restore China."

Characteristics: Nationalism, opposing the dictatorship of the Qing Dynasty and the aggression of foreign powers, overthrowing warlords who colluded with imperialism, seeking equality for all ethnic groups in the country, and recognizing the right of national self-determination. Liang Qichao was the first person in China to reveal and promote modern nationalism. (1902) He published "On the General Trend of National Competition" and clearly stated: "Today, if we want to save China, there is no other way but to build a nationalist country first."?

Mr. Sun Yat-sen also proposed "Three People's Principles" (i.e. nation, civil rights, and people's livelihood). But in the end, the "Three People's Principles" became the "New Three People's Principles" and the nation was changed into a national unity.
