In April, 20021year, in order to cultivate advanced models of anti-drug demonstration areas, play a leading role in demonstration, further stimulate the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity of all localities in carrying out anti-drug work, and promote the sustained and in-depth development of the people's anti-drug war in the new period, the National Narcotics Control Commission decided to name Beijing Chaoyang District and other 4 1 areas as the first batch of "national anti-drug demonstration cities" in accordance with the relevant provisions on establishing demonstration work and the principle of strict control and merit-based admission.
