Zhangye Colorful Danxia Tourist Area is located in Linze and Sunan County, Zhangye City, covering an area of ??more than 510 square kilometers. It is a complex area of ??Danxia landforms and colorful hilly landscapes. It was rated as one of the seven most beautiful Danxia landforms in China by "China National Geographic" magazine.

The scenic spot is managed by Linze County and Sunan County, and the two management areas sell tickets separately. The entrance to Linze Management Area is located in Nijiaying Township, Linze County, and the entrance to Sunan Management Area is located in Baiyin Township, Sunan County. The Danxia landform is a red bed landform, which refers to the red sandstone that has been stripped off by long-term weathering and water erosion, forming isolated peaks and steep strange rocks.
