Can trees be planted in ordinary cultivated land?

You can't plant trees in ordinary cultivated land.

1. It is absolutely taboo to plant trees in fertile land.

2. Protecting cultivated land is China's basic national policy, because high-quality land resources are limited and per capita cultivated land is less.

3. The Land Management Law has explicitly prohibited planting trees on basic farmland (i.e. arable land), even fruit trees cannot be planted.

Relevant laws and regulations:

Article 31 of the Land Management Law stipulates: "The state protects cultivated land and strictly controls the conversion of cultivated land into non-cultivated land."

Article 36 of the Land Management Law also stipulates more strictly and clearly: "Non-agricultural construction must use land sparingly, and those who can use wasteland shall not occupy cultivated land, and those who can use inferior land shall not occupy good land. It is strictly prohibited to occupy cultivated land to build kilns and graves, or to build houses, dig sand, quarry, mine and borrow soil on cultivated land without authorization. It is forbidden to develop forestry and fruit industry and dig ponds to raise fish in basic farmland. " _
