Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, referred to as "Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts" or "Guang Mei", was formerly known as Central South Academy of Fine Arts. It was established in Wuhan, Hubei Province in 1953 with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education, and moved to Guangzhou in 1958. It was renamed Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and began to recruit undergraduates. It is one of the eight fine arts colleges in China.

The school has 3 1 majors and 55 majors in undergraduate education, and has enrolled 24 majors.

The school has three provincial-level key disciplines, including two first-level disciplines of fine arts and design, two disciplines of arts and crafts, and three provincial-level key disciplines with characteristics, including/kloc-0, two first-level disciplines of art theory and two two disciplines of art theory and criticism.
