Ladies and gentlemen,

I am very happy to be your tour guide today.

This is the Palace Museum; Also known as the Purple Forbidden City. It is the largest and best-preserved royal residence in China today. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, the construction of 1406 began. It took 14 years to build the Forbidden City. The first ruler who really lived here was the Ming Emperor Judy. For the next five centuries, it was the residence of 23 emperors until the Qing emperor Puyi was forced to abdicate. 65 438+0987, UNESCO recognized the Forbidden City as a world cultural heritage.

It is believed that the Palace Museum, or Jinzicheng (Purple Forbidden City), is named after astronomical folklore. Ancient astronomers grouped constellations and centered on Yuan (Polaris). The constellation containing Polaris is called the constellation of God, and the star itself is called the Purple Palace. Because the emperor is considered as the son of the gods, his center and dominance will be further emphasized by using the word purple in the name of his residence. In folklore, before the ancient philosopher Laozi arrived at Hangzhou Pass, people saw a purple cloud floating eastward, so "the purple cloud in the east is floating" became a metaphor for auspicious events. Here, purple is associated with auspicious development. The word "forbidden" is self-evident, because the Forbidden City is heavily guarded and ordinary people are not allowed to enter.

The red and yellow colors used on the walls and roofs of the palace are also symbolic. Red represents happiness, good luck and wealth. Yellow is the color of the loess plateau, which is the original home of China people. Yellow became a royal color in the Tang Dynasty, when only members of the royal family were allowed to wear it and use it in their buildings.

The Forbidden City is rectangular. It is 960 meters long from north to south and 750 meters wide from east to west. It has 9,900 rooms with a total roof area of150,000 square meters.

Sorry, there is no conclusion.
