Is the Ningbo subway free on May Day?

Ningbo subway will be free on May Day in 2023.

In order to speed up the recovery and expansion of consumption and promote economic development at night and holidays, the Ningbo Municipal Government issued the "Implementation Plan for "Double Promotion and Double Prosperity" to Promote Consumption and Stable Growth in February, proposing to prosper the subway economy and carry out "green "Travel, Support Consumption" campaign, from February 13 to June 30, after 20:00 every day and all day long on statutory holidays, rail transit Lines 1 to 5 are free to ride on the entire network. During the 2023 May Day holiday (April 29 to May 3), Ningbo Metro will be free to ride on all lines throughout the day, and the operation will be extended by one hour.

Ningbo’s first subway line was put into operation in 2014. There are currently 5 operating lines with a total length of 182 kilometers. In 2022, the subway passenger volume will be 248.36 million, with an average of 680,000 passengers per day. According to statistics, one week after the launch of limited-time free rides, the average daily passenger volume after 20 o'clock on the entire network increased by 61% compared with last week.

Last subway train time during May Day

In order to facilitate citizens’ travel during the holiday, from April 28 to May 3, Ningbo Rail Transit’s entire network will implement a special day timetable. The operation will be extended by 1 hour, and the last train time is as follows:

Line 1 from Gaoqiao West to Xiapu is at 23:33, and from Xiapu to Gaoqiao West at 23:00.

The departure time of Line 2 from Lishe International Airport to Honglian is 23:20, and the departure time from Honglian to Lishe International Airport is 23:00.

The departure time of Line 3 from Jinhai Road to Datong Bridge is 23:00, and the departure time from Datong Bridge to Jinhai Road is 23:38.

The departure time of Line 4 from Cicheng to Dongqian Lake is 23:00, and the departure time from Dongqian Lake to Cicheng is 23:10.

The departure time of Line 5 from Buzheng towards Xingzhuang Road is 23:00, and the departure time from Xingzhuang Road towards Buzheng is 23:00.

Please allow enough transfer time when traveling to avoid missing the last train!
