After the failure of the Great Revolution, in order to resist the bloody massacre by the Kuomintang reactionaries, the Guangdong Party Organization of the Communist Party of China led the people of the entire province to stage a massive armed riot. The violent development of armed riots across the country, including Guangdong, inspired the people of Nanxiong to continue their revolutionary struggle.

On February 12, 1928, the Nanxiong County Committee of the Communist Party of China held an emergency meeting in Yuanyangwei, Lingtan Village, to implement the spirit of the "August 7th Conference" of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The meeting decided to hold a county-wide armed riot on the night of the 13th and made careful arrangements.

The next night, it was snowing heavily, and farmers in the entire county held an armed riot at the same time. The scale of the riot was rare in the province. Yuanyangwei became the source of the Nanxiong peasant uprising.

In early 1929, the Fourth Red Army withdrew from Jinggangshan arrived at Huangmuling, Wujing, Nanxiong to camp. After learning about it, the enemy prepared to divide the Red Army into two groups and encircle it. At this critical moment, due to the guerrillas from Lingtan Village, The reconnaissance team led by cadre Zhong Jiaopan sent this information in time, and the Fourth Red Army moved overnight. The enemy was in vain, and the Red Army turned the corner.

Marshal Zhu De recalled in his "The Biography of Zhu De": "When we arrived at Wujing, it was getting dark, and we were all tired, so we talked, held meetings, and camped on Pingbazi. . Martyr Zhong Jiaopan also completed the Long March in Nanxiong. One of the people. He first served as a staff officer of the First Bureau of the Military Commission. After the long march to northern Shaanxi, he served as the intelligence officer of the Second Bureau. Time flies, and the years fly by. Although nearly a century has passed, we can still feel the lingering warmth of history that seems to have never gone away, the shocking peasant riots that leveled fields and warehouses, and the vigorous scenes of the Great Revolution.

From 1940 to 1944, the Guangdong Army General Hospital was stationed in Lingtan Village and witnessed the war years of saving lives and healing the wounded. Red culture is the “soul” of Lingtan Village. It has also become a red education base.

Before 2016, this red hot land with such genes had a name that was unspeakable for villagers - "Nitan Village". The houses here are dilapidated, the roads are muddy, the economy is backward, and the poverty incidence rate is 5.72%. It is a poor village supported by the provincial level.

Since 2016, with the careful assistance of the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, a number of targeted poverty alleviation industry projects have been started.
