Where is Huainan?

Huainan is in Anhui Province. Huainan, known as Zhoulai in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province and an important national energy city. Located in East China and north-central Anhui, in the hinterland of Yangtze River Delta and on the bank of Huaihe River, it is known as the throat of Zhongzhou, the barrier of Jiangnan and the colorful Huainan. It is an important node of urban agglomeration along Huaihe River and the core city of Hefei metropolitan area.

Huainan City is located in the Huaihe River Basin, and the largest surface water is the Huaihe River. The tributaries of the city are East Huaihe River, Heyao River, West Huaihe River, Jiahe River and Nihei River. Lakes include Wabu Lake, Gaotang Lake, Shi Jian Lake, Jiaogang Lake, Huajia Lake and Chengbei Lake. Man-made rivers include the Cihuai New River. In addition, there are small reservoirs such as Caichengtang, Quanshan, Laolong 'an, Rushan, Dingshan and Xu Qiao. There are many lakes and wetlands formed by accumulated water in coal mining subsidence areas, the largest of which is cherry orchard (Xier mine subsidence area, also known as Huaixi Lake).

Huainan is located in the north-central part of Anhui Province, bordering Chuzhou in the east, Hefei in the southeast, Lu 'an in the southwest, Fuyang in the west and Bozhou and Bengbu in the north. The easternmost point is located in the east of Wangci Village, Kongdian Township, datong district, on the center line of Gaotang Lake, the westernmost point is located in the west of Houhaizi, Shangtang Township, Fengtai County, bordering Lixin County, the southernmost point is located in the south of Huaishuzhuang, Fenglou Village, Shouxian County, bordering jin an district, Lu 'an City, and the northernmost point is located in the center line of the main channel of Cihuai New River at the junction of Fengtai County, Mengcheng County and Lixin County.
