On both sides of the promenade, there are flowers and trees, red flowers and green grass, and trees are shaded. If it is moistened by rain, it will be more beautiful. It can really be regarded as "flying red sweeping the clouds, and the new green melon bed hoes the ground in the rain." The fragrance of flowers and trees is accompanied by the breeze blowing from Kunming Lake on the left, which is really refreshing.

The Summer Palace promenade is located between the southern foot of Wanshou Mountain and the northern shore of Kunming Lake. It was built in the 15th year of Qing Qianlong (1750), and was rebuilt in 1888 after it was burnt down by the British and French allied forces in/860. The promenade starts from the Moon Inviting Gate in the east and ends at Zhang Shiting in the west. It passes through the Paiyun Gate in the middle and is symmetrically dotted with four octagonal pavilions with double eaves: Liujiating Pavilion, Jilan Pavilion, Qiushui Pavilion and Qingyao Pavilion. It symbolizes the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is 728 meters long, with 273 rooms and 548 columns. The promenade is famous for its exquisite architecture, twists and turns and colorful paintings. It is the longest corridor among ancient buildings and gardens in China. The promenade is also a colorful gallery. Every beam in the gallery is painted with colorful paintings, with more than *** 14000, which are bright and magnificent. Its length and colorful paintings were listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1990. Most of the colorful paintings are landscapes, flowers and birds, and the plots in China's four classical novels (Dream of Red Mansions, Journey to the West, Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Water Margin). Painters condensed the history and culture of China for thousands of years on this long corridor. Many of these landscape paintings are copied from the mountains and rivers in the south of the Yangtze River, and were drawn by painters according to the intention of Qianlong.
