Shunde does not produce tea. However, there are many tea processing enterprises in Shunde, which are even sold overseas.

The tea industry in Shunde has its historical origins. As early as a few decades ago in the era of planned economy, there were tea production enterprises in Shunde. Now several tea factories are transformed from the original collective enterprises. The reason why they can develop to this day and grow bigger and bigger is because they have explored a "dumbbell-shaped" management way with raw materials and markets outside and focusing on finishing and branding in the middle.

The names of provincial tea import and export companies such as Biliyuan, Boneng, Sincerity, Tea Factory No.1, Yunfeng and Jin Shun suddenly appeared in front of us. These tea production enterprises with a certain scale are either sold domestically or exported, generally forming a production, supply and marketing system integrating planting, production, processing and sales. They set up planting bases in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Fujian and other tea-producing areas to ensure the supply and quality of raw materials on the one hand. For example, Boneng Company has a planting and processing base in Anxi, the famous "hometown of tea", and Biliyuan has a raw material production and supply base covering more than 30,000 mu of tea gardens in major tea-producing areas in China. The raw materials have been solved, and the manufacturers have attracted advanced technology and production equipment for fine processing. Where there is no tea production in Shunde, they can produce all kinds of packaged tea, such as Tieguanyin, Oolong Tea, Black Tea, Green Tea, Longjing, Shanzong, Pu 'er, scented tea, bulk tea, hardcover tea, teabags, canned tea, pressed tea, special tea and so on.

Brand building is a wise move for tea merchants in Shunde. Yunfeng native tea factory was born out of a collective factory. After nearly 30 years of struggle, it has become a well-known tea production enterprise and is listed as the most competitive tea enterprise in Guangdong Province. The tea produced by Biliyuan Company, which is mainly exported, has entered the famous British store Ford Mei Sen Company, which has the right to be a "licensed supplier of royal goods", and has become the first choice for members of the royal family. The reporter learned that Shunde tea enterprises are generally implementing ISO9000 quality system certification and QS certification for food safety, and are frequent visitors to some large-scale tea fairs and expositions in China.
