Classification of Wall in Civil Engineering

Small masonry can be applied to non-bearing walls in civil engineering. Walls can be divided into load-bearing walls and non-load-bearing walls according to different structural stress conditions.

Filled wall

The wall filled between columns in a frame structure is called a frame filled wall. Volume calculation: the infilled wall is calculated by volume according to the size shown in the design, excluding the area of door and window openings and the volume occupied by beams (lintels, ring beams and cantilever beams). In fact, the masonry part has been included in the project and is not calculated separately.

A wall that separates the internal space and bears its weight by the floor or beam is called a partition wall.

curtain wall

The light wall hanging mainly between external skeletons is called curtain wall.

Masonry wall

A wall made of bricks and mortar by a certain masonry method. Block generally includes: solid brick, hollow brick, lightweight aggregate concrete block, concrete hollow block, rubble, rubble, etc. Mortar generally includes mixed mortar and cement mortar. Masonry methods include: for brick walls, including "three-in-one" bricklaying method, "2381" bricklaying method, squeezing method, scraping method and full mouth ash method. Among them, the most commonly used are "three-in-one" bricklaying method and extrusion method.
