Suez canal: the largest shiplock-free canal in the world

The Suez Canal is located on the west side of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, across the Isthmus of Suez, between Port Said and Suez, with a total length of about 1.63 km. It is the largest canal without locks in the world.

The Suez Canal is a sea-level waterway that runs through the Isthmus of Suez, Egypt, connects the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, and provides the shortest route from Europe to the land near the Indian Ocean and the Western Pacific Ocean.

It is one of the most frequently used air routes in the world, the border between Asia and Africa, and the main channel for people from Asia to Africa. The canal starts from Port Said in the north and ends at Suez in the south, with a total length of 195 km. It tunnels into the Mediterranean Sea in the north of Port Said and ends in the south of Suez.
