In 1925, Ma Yanxiang, Wu Faxiang, Bian Fengnian, Yuan Renlun, Chen Du and others initiated the establishment of the Fudan New Theater Troupe, the first formally organized theater group in the history of our school. In the autumn of the same year, the troupe made a splash at the school's karaoke with five one-act plays. In 1926, Fudan New Theater Troupe was renamed "Fudan University Fudan Drama Club", referred to as "Fudan Drama Club", and hired Hong Shen, one of the founders of modern Chinese drama and a professor of the Department of Foreign Languages ??at Fudan University, as its director.

In 1930, the "Left-Left Alliance" was established in Shanghai. Soon, various literary and artistic alliances, including the Left-wing Drama Federation, were established one after another. The Left-wing Drama Federation organized joint performances and carried out proletarian drama activities under the leadership of the party, and Fudan Drama Club also participated in it. In the same year, the theater company rehearsed a major play - the tragicomedy "Cyrano" by the French romantic playwright Rostand. There are no less than 70 people in the whole play, making the performance extremely difficult. After four months of rehearsals, "Cyrano" was performed at the New Central Theater in Shanghai and became a sensation. The performance of this play established Fudan Drama Club's position on the Chinese drama stage. In 1932, in order to raise funds for the Northeast Volunteer Army, the drama club held a large-scale benefit performance, performing Chekhov's "Victory", "Idiot" and Tian Han's one-act play "", written in conjunction with the anti-Japanese struggle after the "September 18th" Incident. Comrade". After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, most of Fudan University moved to Chongqing, and a small part moved to a small building on Hart Road. At that time, the life of students in Chongqing School was very difficult, but the members were unwilling to disappear and rehearsed and performed with great enthusiasm. In 1941, Li Weishi's "Peking Man" caused a sensation in Chongqing due to its bold innovations.

After liberation, Fudan Theater Company was reorganized into Fudan Theater Company. The troupe not only participated in socialist revolution and construction activities in the form of drama performances, but also held drama lectures for students during the summer vacation to popularize drama knowledge. In 1963, the troupe performed a new play "Red Rock" at the Shanghai Art Theater for four consecutive days, and the theater was full. In the tenth year of the Cultural Revolution, the theater troupe suffered a violent attack. It was not until 1977, at the suggestion of school leader Xia Zhengnong and well-known figure in the literary and art circles Huang Zuolin, that the troupe was officially restored and recruitment was held. In 1978, the troupe once again made a sensation in Shanghai with Zong Fuxian's "In the Silent Place". In 2004, the drama club created a large-scale drama "Hold Up Tomorrow's Sun" based on three volunteer teaching volunteers in the west: Feng Ai, Dai Haoran and Li Jiamei. It toured across the country and received rave reviews. After entering the new millennium, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission established the "Shanghai University Student Repertory Theater", with Fudan Drama Club as its team. Since 2001, the "Drama Project" has been established in Fudan University's unified examination for students with artistic talents. Every year, outstanding candidates from all over the country come to apply. After passing the examination for students with artistic talents, they still need to take the local college entrance examination. In 2007, Fudan Drama Club once again conducted on-campus selection and recruitment at the same time as the recruitment of students with artistic talents. In December of the same year, Fudan Drama Club teamed up with other drama clubs on campus to jointly organize the 2009 Fudan University Drama Performance Season. In June 2010, Fudan Drama Club produced the famous Hong Kong drama "I Have a Date with Spring" for all the 2010 graduates of Fudan University. In 2014, the original physical drama "1925·Shadow" was successfully staged at the Shanghai Dramatic Art Center, participated in the University Student Drama Festival, and finally won the second prize and the Best Director Award. "1925" is the year when Fudan Drama Club was established. This play and "1925·Line" in the 12th Fudan University Campus Drama Festival in 2013 are both the original "1925" series of interactive dramas by Fudan Drama Club. In November 2014, Fudan University's Fudan Drama Club's original military-themed drama "The Proud One" was successfully performed at the Shanghai Theater Academy as a finalist of the 4th China Campus Drama Festival.
