China's gun laws.

In China, ordinary citizens can't hold guns, and China is a country that prohibits citizens from holding guns. Handling a gun license requires compliance with the law.

Official guns can only be used by the following special personnel: police in public security bureaus, procuratorates, prisons and state security organs can be equipped with guns according to law. In addition, the customs anti-smuggling personnel and full-time guards and escorts of important national military, financial, warehousing, scientific research and other units may also be equipped with official guns if they need to use guns when performing guard escort tasks.

There are the following types of people who can use civilian guns: approved competitive stadiums, commercial shooting ranges and some legal hunting grounds can be equipped with guns. Herders and hunters can apply for the distribution of shotguns in specific areas. Wildlife protection and related scientific research units can also be equipped with shotguns and anesthesia guns for work needs.

The following persons may carry guns:

(1) Staff members of people's courts, people's procuratorates and public security organs who have to wear guns because of their work needs;

(2) Party and government responsible cadres in frontier areas, coastal defense areas and other remote areas that the people's governments of provinces and autonomous regions think need to carry guns;

(3) confidential traffic police of party and government organs at or above the provincial level, confidential communication personnel necessary for party and government organs and post and telecommunications departments in border areas to carry guns;

(4) Customs officers who wear guns because of their work needs.

The "gun" in gun-related crimes in criminal law generally refers to the guns stipulated in the Measures for the Administration of Firearms. Article 2 The firearms mentioned in these Measures (including ammunition used for firearms) refer to the following firearms in non-military systems: military pistols, rifles, submachine guns and machine guns, various firearms used in shooting sports, rifling guns, shotguns, powder guns for hunting, injection guns for anesthetizing animals, and air guns capable of firing metal pellets. The military guns equipped by China People's Liberation Army, militia and People's Armed Police Force shall be managed in accordance with the relevant provisions of the army and militia system. Water guns and gun lighters are definitely not "guns", so it doesn't matter if you can't get on the train.

Article 5 People's policemen of public security organs, state security organs, prisons, reeducation-through-labor institutions, judicial policemen of people's courts, judicial policemen of people's procuratorates, prosecutors who undertake case investigation tasks, and customs anti-smuggling personnel may be equipped with official guns if it is really necessary to use guns when performing their duties according to law. Full-time guards and escorts of important national military, financial, warehousing, scientific research and other units may be equipped with guns for official use if it is really necessary to use guns for guarding and escorting tasks. Specific measures for equipping official guns shall be formulated by the public security department of the State Council in conjunction with other relevant state organs in accordance with the principle of strict control, and shall be implemented after being reported to the State Council for approval.

Article 6 The following units may be equipped with guns for civilian use:

(1) Units specialized in shooting competitive sports approved by the sports administrative department of the provincial people's government and business shooting ranges approved by the public security organs of the provincial people's government can be equipped with shooting sports guns;

(2) Hunting grounds approved by the forestry administrative department of the people's government at or above the provincial level may be equipped with shotguns;

(3) Units engaged in wildlife protection, breeding and scientific research may be equipped with shotguns and anesthesia injection guns according to business needs.

Hunters in hunting areas and herdsmen in pastoral areas can apply for the allocation of shotguns. Hunting areas and pastoral areas shall be designated by the provincial people's government. Specific measures for the allocation of civilian guns shall be formulated by the public security department of the State Council in accordance with the principle of strict control, and shall be implemented after being submitted to the State Council for approval.

Seventh equipped with official guns, unified examination and approval by the public security department of the State Council. When equipped with a gun for official use, the public security department of the State Council or the public security organ of the provincial people's government shall issue a certificate for holding a gun for official use.

The allocation of sports guns for business shooting ranges shall be approved by the public security organ of the provincial people's government and reported to the public security department of the State Council. When equipped with shooting sports guns, the public security organs of the provincial people's governments shall issue certificates for civilian guns.

Article 9 Hunting grounds equipped with shotguns shall be submitted to the public security organs of the people's governments at or above the provincial level for examination and approval on the strength of the approval documents of the forestry administrative departments of the people's governments at or above the provincial level, and the public security organs of the people's governments at or above the municipal level with districts shall issue certificates for the purchase of civilian guns.

Article 10 Where a wildlife protection, breeding and scientific research unit applies for the allocation of hunting rifles and anesthetic injection guns, it shall apply to the public security organ of the local county-level people's government with the hunting license or special hunting and catching license issued by the wildlife administrative department of the local county-level people's government and its business license; Hunters who apply for the allocation of shotguns shall submit their hunting license and personal identification documents issued by the county-level wildlife administrative departments to the public security organs of the local people's governments at the county level; Herdsmen who apply for the allocation of shotguns shall present their personal identification documents to the public security organs of the local people's governments at the county level. The public security organ that accepts the application shall, after examination, report to the public security organ of the municipal people's government at the district level and issue a purchase certificate for civilian guns.

Article 11 Units and individuals that purchase hunting rifles and anesthetic injection guns must apply to the public security organ that issued the license for controlling the purchase of guns for civilian use within 30 days after purchasing the guns.

Twelfth commercial shooting ranges and hunting grounds equipped with civilian guns shall not be carried out of the commercial shooting ranges and hunting grounds. Hunting guns equipped by hunters and herders shall not be carried out of hunting grounds or pastoral areas.
