Zhoukou City is a city in Henan Province. Zhoukou City is located in the eastern plain of Henan Province, in the southeast of Henan Province, with a latitude of 33 03'-34 20' north and a longitude of114 05'-115 39' east-west. Zhoukou City is adjacent to Fuyang City in Anhui Province in the east, Luohe City and Xuchang City in the west, Zhumadian City in the south and Kaifeng City and Shangqiu City in the north.

Zhoukou belongs to the Huaihe River Basin and has four major water systems: Shaying River (commonly known as Shahe River), Guohe River, Xifei River and Hongru River. Sha Ying River Basin covers an area of 8,838 square kilometers, accounting for 76% of the total area. The main tributaries are Jia Luhe, Fenquan River, Heihe River, New Canal and Xincai River.
