Differences between Chinese and foreign views on marriage and love

For westerners, love is everything, which constitutes the whole life and the whole of life. In the eyes of westerners, love is the greatest happiness in life. If there is no love in life, you will lose unlimited interest. Westerners believe that when people are in love, the objects they admire are just like angels, flawless and absolutely pure. Therefore, true love will purify people's souls and sublimate people's morality. Therefore, western scholars and artists attach great importance to love, and even fall in love many times in their lives in order to find inspiration and passion.

However, love plays a very low role in the traditional social and cultural structure of China, and is often regarded as secondary. Deeply influenced by Confucian political ethics, the function of love in China traditional culture is more to reproduce. Love and marriage are based on "parents' orders and matchmakers' words", and "Chinese love" has become a wedding dress. In the eyes of China people, if they are not married, no matter how sincere their feelings are, they cannot be accepted by public opinion and morality.
