Hebei Normal University is a provincial key university jointly established by the People's Government of Hebei Province and the Ministry of Education. It is a "double first-class" first-class university in Hebei Province. The school originated from Shuntianfu School founded in Beijing in 1902 and Beiyang Normal School founded in Tianjin in 1906. It has a development history of 120 years and a glorious tradition of running a school.

1June, 1996, the former Hebei Normal University and Hebei Normal College merged with Hebei Education College founded in 1952 and Hebei Vocational and Technical Teachers College founded in 1984 to form a new Hebei Normal University. Alumni include Deng, Yang Xiufeng, Kang, Rong Gaotang, famous patriotic scholars Liang Shuming, Zhang Shenfu, Tang Yongtong, Hao Bailin, Li Shushen, Eric and other academicians, as well as sports elites such as Cai Zhenhua.
