In fact, the Guangdong Men's Basketball Team was founded by Guangdong Hongyuan Group. At first, people always used the name "Hongyuan" because there was no suitable sponsor to support the team. Because the sports bureau, the team and the sponsors don't give in to each other, the Shanxi men's basketball team once announced that it would be renamed as "Shanxi Zhongyu Beijing Beizhong" as a wonderful name. The reason is that CBA is still in the development stage. Basketball Association still attaches great importance to the protection of sponsors. Not only the names of sponsors are reflected in the technical statistics after the game, but many CBA DJs also need to shout the names of sponsors to cheer. For a long time, the name of the team changed from one place to another, and the fans couldn't keep up with the change of sponsors. They are still habitually called "Beijing Team" or "Guangdong Team".

In contrast, the NBA is much better in this respect, and it is forbidden to use any commercial color in team names. When Memphis Grizzlies was founded, they wanted to use FedEx as the name of the team, because FedEx was headquartered in Memphis. In the end, the league rejected this decision, and FedEx turned its attention to the home of the Grizzlies.
