imperial academy's Travels in Beijing Confucius Temple

There are three things in Confucius Temple: Platycladus orientalis, stone tablets and sparrows.

I arrived at the gate of Confucius Temple at about 9: a.m., and when I saw the sign, it opened at 8:3, so I wanted to know earlier. The so-called historical sites and tourist attractions are noisy when there are many people, and some people pose in various poses and poses to take pictures, which makes people feel unhappy. After buying the ticket, I walked in, and there were already several people inside, two old couples, a couple of tourists, an old lady and a young man, probably grandparents and grandchildren, and the rest were the staff there, all of whom were frowning and very annoying.

There are dozens of stone tablets around the first courtyard, engraved with the names of some imperial examinations. Some of the handwriting is still clear, some of them are already very blurred, and even the stone tablets are incomplete or cracked. Time is really ruthless and can destroy everything. Some stone tablets have square marble tablets with anecdotes about the imperial examination that year. For example, there is a story about Xie Qizhuo, a 98-year-old scholar in Guangdong, whose family had lived under one roof for four generations at that time. This story is beautiful on the surface. After further consideration, there is no doubt that there is some sadness in it. Others include Wang Yi who missed the exam period and later made up the exam. He won the first place, and Zeng Guofan only won the 4th place in the top three, or the 4th place in the second place.

beside these stone tablets, there are many arborvitae and locust trees, which grow very tall, but in terms of quantity, arborvitae is much more. And almost every Platycladus orientalis is planted with a vine, which climbs up and is closely intertwined with the tree. I don't know what this is about. Later, I went to the second entrance, and found that almost all the trees here were Platycladus orientalis, some of which were dry and the gray branches stood upright. Some trees had tumors, some only one, some several, and some were all over them. The tumors were twisted into a solid ball with a strange spiral posture, and the texture was clear and messy, which was simply a beautiful sculpture. These Platycladus orientalis really have their own characteristics. Some of them are straight with few branches and leaves, but the vines wrapped around them are decorating it. Some of them are forked a lot, and they are not tall. Some of them are also very graceful. Some of them have also been sawn off by hand, leaving a big oblate gap. Compared with the trees standing in line by the roadside, these trees in the Confucius Temple are natural and unrestrained, but they are not as presumptuous as the trees in the wild. After all, some people manage them and will not let them grow as long as they want.

There are also many imperial monuments in the Confucius Temple, which are used to sing praises of state affairs, such as pacifying San Francisco and Junggar rebellion. These monuments are well treated. Not only are there dragons and phoenixes carved on the top of the monument, but they are also carrying them. Some of them have their mouths open, some have their teeth closed, and they don't know what they are all about. One of the imperial monuments is from the Ming Dynasty. On the back of the monument are the slogans of the rebels during the Cultural Revolution: Jun Mo Dance, please eat baked sweet potatoes; Q: Is it bitter? A: It's bitter to chew it carefully! That's interesting. Moreover, this shameful trace has not been painted and cleaned by the relevant departments, but it is also very interesting to cover the railing with a gazebo for people to visit. I don't have much interest in these monuments. They are just eulogies, and there is a smell of wasting people's money in them.

There are also many sparrows in the Confucius Temple, usually in groups, flying from tree to tree, falling to the ground or into the grass. The courtyard of Confucius Temple is small, and many trees are planted, so it is very quiet, too quiet, and it feels a little dull. These sparrows fly around, adding a lot of vitality.

As for the temples in the Confucius Temple, most of them are newly built and brand-new, and the furnishings inside are dazzling. It's a big Confucius showroom. Some cultural relics are worth seeing, although they are basically replicas. But at the end of the Confucius showroom, the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic appeared, and I don't know why. Moreover, looking at the global distribution of Confucius Institutes, the countries with the largest number are Thailand, Mexico, Germany, the United States and Japan. It is really surprising that there are so many Confucius Institutes in Mexico. Voltaire admired Confucius very much. In fact, Confucius was very liberal and democratic, and his work style was also very open-minded. At the same time, he adhered to principles and was indeed a teacher for generations to come. Yu Dan talked about the Analects of Confucius. Although I don't quite understand it, it should be beneficial to the world.

There is nothing to be learned in imperial academy. The central building is the place where the emperor named Bi Yong studied his lessons. The desk of the emperor is high above, decorated with yellow brocade, and the teacher's lecture table is a horizontal table without decoration. I don't know what the lecture was like at that time, but on the surface, the lecture was very abnormal. The emperor was praised as the son of heaven and a saint, and he could rule everything, but he also had to learn, but no matter what he learned, the son of heaven and a saint were settled, and the person who taught him was naturally a layman, and at the same time he was a subordinate or a slave. It may be that the ceremony of giving lessons to the emperor is very grand and solemn, and everyone naturally forgets these incomprehensible places. In the era of China's monarchy, the status of the emperor was really hard to see, and people seemed to fall into the strange circle of imperial worship, and they tried their best to worship the emperor and become addicted to being slaves. Of course, this kind of ethos still exists now, and it is quite strong. Although we are equal without kowtowing and kneeling, we can be truly enlightened and equal, and we need to continue to work hard.

Biyong is surrounded by water, which is full of aquatic plants and many small fish. There is also a begonia tree by the pool, with some fruits hanging from its branches, and some fruits have fallen into the water.

I felt that when I was leaving after the visit, I found a small door on the east side of the main entrance of imperial academy, with words like Qianlong Imperial Monument or something similar written on it, so I went in to have a look. A small courtyard, next to a small flower bed, is planted with neat bluegrass that has just been planted. There is a monument in the middle of the flower bed, which reads the two characters of Fushou. It's just an ordinary courtyard.

But as soon as I walked in, I was shocked. There were hundreds of stone tablets neatly arranged in front of me. The room was about tens of meters long, and there were several people standing on the other side. There were six rows of stone tablets. The room was very dark and it was difficult to read. I stood at the door for a while and left. The stone tablet is engraved with more than 6, words of the Thirteen Confucian Classics. It should be engraved on the stone one by one. The arduous work can be imagined, and its respect for knowledge is also admirable.
