What is iatf?

The International Automobile Working Group (IATF) is an "ad hoc" organization composed of automobile manufacturers and their respective national automobile industry associations, aiming at providing higher quality products to global automobile customers. Specifically, IATF was established for the following purposes:

Reach a * * understanding of the requirements of the international basic quality system, mainly for the direct suppliers of production materials, products or service parts or processing services (such as heat treatment, painting and electroplating) of participating companies. These requirements also apply to other interested parties in the automotive industry.

Develop policies and procedures for general IATF third-party registration programs to ensure global consistency.

Provide appropriate training to support IATF 16949 requirements and IATF registration plan.

Establish formal contacts with appropriate institutions to support IATF objectives.
