Xixiang Expressway refers to the expressway from Xichang, Sichuan to Shangri-La, Yunnan, which is a part of Du Xiang Expressway. The total length of Xichang-Shangri-La Expressway is about 320 kilometers, of which the total length in Sichuan is 162. 1 km. The line starts from Zhongba Township, southwest of Xichang City, and carries out traffic conversion with Pan Xi Expressway. Crossing the Anning River, Jiupansi Tunnel will be set up to cross Mopan Mountain, Yalong River and Pingchuan Valley. Xixiang Expressway is a tourist expressway connecting Xichang, Lugu Lake, Shangri-La and other tourist attractions. After the completion of the expressway and connecting line, the distance from Xichang to Lugu Lake will be shortened to more than170km, which is nearly100km shorter than the current 268km. By then, it will take more than two hours to take the expressway from Xichang to Lugu Lake. At present, citizens in Chengdu, Leshan and other places need to take Chengya Expressway-Yaxi Expressway to Ximu Station by car, and then take G3 17, which takes 1 1 hour. After the completion of the expressway, the whole journey from Chengdu to Lugu Lake will be high-speed, and the whole journey will only take 7 hours.

After the completion of Xixiang Expressway, it will form a large passage of Du Xiang Expressway together with Zhao Xi Expressway and Duyun-Zhaotong Expressway in the west.
