Brief Introduction of Taizhou Provincial Games in 2022

The 20th Jiangsu Provincial Games was approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, and undertaken by Taizhou Municipal People's Government. The opening ceremony was held in Taizhou Sports Park (a large stadium with a capacity of 30,000 people, a gymnasium with a capacity of 6,000 people, a modern swimming and diving hall and a national fitness center) on August 28th, 2022.

The 20th Provincial Games is divided into three parts: Youth Department, University Department and Staff Department. Among them, the undergraduate department is expected to set up Group A 17 events and Group B 15 events, with the participation scale reaching 8,500. The staff department is expected to set up 9 competitions, and the scale of participation will reach 3500; The Ministry of Youth is expected to set up 36 competitions, and the scale of participation will reach more than 20,000. Large-scale activities will be held during the opening and closing ceremonies from August 28th to September 5th.

Compared with previous provincial games, the qualification of participating athletes has been expanded, and it is clear that Chinese overseas Chinese and athletes from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who are studying or working in our province can sign up for the competition. The Ministry of Youth has added a number of Olympic events such as karate, equestrian, skateboarding and modern pentathlon, as well as basic events such as children's physical fitness and "Little Giant Youmiao" physical fitness, which is the one with the largest number of events and participants.
