Chrysanthemum stone-Jiangxi Yongfeng?

The Yongfeng chrysanthemum stone (Figure 3.5) is mainly produced at the bottom of the Badeng River in the Zengjia Section of Taotang Township, Yongfeng County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province and in the small rivers of Fujita Town. The "flowers" of this stone are clear and unique in shape. The "petals" are generally about 5cm long. The "chrysanthemums" are inlaid on dark or green limestone or marble. The "flower colors" are different, mainly white, but also orange and brown, and several colors can appear on the same plane. The "flower shape" is realistic and complete, and the large and small "chrysanthemums" are hidden or visible, natural and orderly, and beautiful in ancient Athens, which is pleasing to the eye and has high ornamental value.

The record of Yongfeng chrysanthemum stone was first seen in Zhang Shangyuan's "Miscellaneous Clouds in the Stone" of the Qing Dynasty: "There is a stone in Yongfeng, Jishui, with green and yellow seals, the seals are chrysanthemums, and the gold and silver are as bright as picturesque." The book also records the Liuyang chrysanthemum stone, which shows that the Yongfeng chrysanthemum stone was discovered very early, but for some reason it was not mined and utilized like the Liuyang chrysanthemum stone, and was even forgotten for a long time. It was not until 1994 that Mr. Guan Xiaopei, an educated youth from Shanghai who went to the countryside, took the "Plum Blossom Bridge" recorded in the county annals as a clue, and after all the hardships, he finally discovered the chrysanthemum stone in the Tengba River area and called it the chrysanthemum water stone.
